Reviews
- this record is amazing
haven't heard the original but my reissue from light in the attic sounds excellent, good pressing - I love this album! I you're feeling in a relaxed mood, just put it on and let it absorb you. The combination of shoe-gazer guitar distortion over deep dubby basslines and blissful electronics works so well. It's much easier to experience it than describe it - get the redux edition for extended play. Enjoy.
- Edited 16 years agoQuite possibly Seefeel's most accomplished release. 'Quique' epitomizes their aesthetic for FX drowned guitar loops, unaffected vocals and percussion that sounds as though it had been dished out on empty oil drums.
Tracks like 'Polyfusion' and 'Plainsong' (a much more fleshed-out version than the one previously available on 'Pure, Impure') represent some of their finest work. 'Filter Dub' is one of the greatest moments in shoegazer history with its dense, hypnotic guitar melodies. - Edited 18 years agoStep forward and smell the ether. A classic album that was definitely well ahead of its time. Hypnotic analog beats, sensual basslines and lush detuned analog textures mixed with looped MBV-like guitar effects and hidden vocals. A true landmark, that has inspired future artists such as Ulrich Schnauss and dare i say Boards of Canada.
