I'm a little surprised someone hasn't already commented on the beauty of the parks on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

If it were possible I would give a standing ovation to the people of the Niagara Parks Commission. Their hard work shines through in the spectacular year round displays.

Niagara is a year round destination for our family . We not only love the majesty and grandeur of the Falls but the beauty of the Parkway and Parks.

The Parkway is always clean and cleared of snow whenever we have had the pleasure of being in the area during the winter months. A little respite is the Greenhouse just beyond the Canadian side of the Falls featuring colourful flowers and birds.

As soon as the weather allows, a spring carpet of blooming tulips and other beautiful flowers runs along the boulevard of the Niagara Parkway and Queen Victoria Park.

Of course summer is the height of Niagara's beauty. Yes, there are as many tourists in the area during this time as there are in many small towns around the country, however, it is a joy to drive along the Parkway viewing families of all nationalities and countries enjoying a picnic, others laying on a blanket taking the sights in and many others just strolling the grounds of the QV Park.

We were fortunate enough to visit the Falls again this past weekend strolled through the grounds. In the midst of all the greenery we were remarking that in a few short months the area would be ablaze in the Winter Festival of Lights. Another highlight!

Thank you Niagara Parks Commission. You do indeed make us proud!

Walk by this park may look like you are in the perfect scenario, water fall sound, trees, impecable grass, benches and families around. All this too organized and in harmony. Not even the sound of buses croosing the street will make it less perfect.

It was a nice park, but it is at the base of Clifton Hill, an entertainment district that draws a crowd. If you're wanting peace and quiet, go to the Botanical Garden north of here, which is also free. At least, Queen Victoria Park is across the street to see Niagara Falls, but on the weekends the CROWDS are overwhelming.

On a trip with friends of mine from home, we were taken on a daytrip to the Niagara Falls area on a daytrip by the Canadian friends we were visiting. After the Skylon Tower, the attractions at the IMAX Theatre across the parking lot, and lunch at Tim Hortons, we walked down the Niagara Parkway toward the Hornblower Niagara Cruises building. En route, we stopped at Queen Victoria Park to rest a bit in the 90° F heat and high humidity.

Admission to this park is free.

Queen Victoria Park is well-kept. Some sections have a lot of flowers. The main attraction is the commanding scenic views of Niagara Falls in New York and Canada. This is where most people take their photos of the falls.

The park is located along a section of the Niagara Parkway that runs adjacent to the Niagara River between the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls. And, right from the sidewalk, one gets fabulous views of the cruise boats from Maid of the Mist and Hornblower Niagara Cruises as they make their sightseeing trips to and from both falls.

There were also places to sit and rest for a few minutes.

During my visit, I stopped to read and photograph the historic marker commemorating Sir Casimir S. Gzowski, an engineer who worked on the Welland Canal and railroads. He was also the first Chairman of the Niagara Parks Commission.

I rate Queen Victoria Park at 5.0 for its spectacular views of the falls in both New York and Ontario.

We visited Queen Victoria Park while touring the area around Niagara Falls yesterday. What a wonderful area! There was a lot to do besides strolling between the stores and music, and our family decided to settle into the ice skating rink to do some laps around the rink. It was mildly expensive, costing about $50 for three sets of skate rentals, but still well worth the cost. There was something magical about skating over a view of the falls, and everyone was well into the spirit of things! There were also a lot of great photo opportunities around the ice-covered trees of the park. Enjoy this place with a nice hot cup of hot chocolate from the Welcome Center!

Since we went in the wintertime, the park unfortunately had no flowers blooming and the walkways were not being maintained. That being said, there were quaint benches and lovely trees everywhere. The best thing is the view of the falls - completely unobstructed views, and there were very few people there so we had the railings all to ourselves. We loved it and would definitely like to come back in the summer when everything would be in full season!

Enjoy lovely views of Niagara Falls while you peruse the manicured flower gardens. Rest under a shade tree and people-watch. Listen to the soothing sounds of the roar of water. Plan to spend about an hour, and slow your roll. This is a relaxing place next to the bustle of the boardwalk.

Beautiful!!! We thoroughly enjoyed walking thru this park. So many different color trees and flowers. First time for us seeing a chocolate brown squirrel! We counted three different colors of squirrels: the grey, chocolate brown and tan squirrels. The park offers a great escape from Clifton Ave.

We visited during the 3rd week of October, and the park was absolutely beautiful! The entire grounds were extremely clean, and the walk around was simply beautiful, There is no charge for this attraction, simply stop and enjoy. Highly recommended.

What ever happened to all the benches and picnic tables that were in the Queen Victoria Park. Walking to and back from the falls during those hot summer days can get very tiring for moms with children and especially SENIORS. We always went across the street to the park to get some shade from the sun. We would sit on the benches to rest and then move on. I get the run around when I call the parks people for help. All seniors should call and complain. The benches along the gorge are directly in the sun. For a world class tourist attraction this is pretty bad.
