Providence High School Reviews
Rating 3.52 out of 5 468 reviews
Providence High School most definitely prepares you for college, but there are some challenges to going here. The academics are rigorous and move at a fast pace with little forgiveness for late work. I feel as thought some of my teachers don’t quite understand that I am a student enrolled at 7 classes at a time, and theirs might not always at the top of the list of work I have to fit into my limited time outside of school. As a sophomore, I have learned tons of skills, specifically in writing. I have learned so much more on how to become a better writer and truly feel as though it benefits me in every aspect of my academics.
Quite a few of my friends and I have experienced bullying here and when going to administration with the issue we felt unseen and unheard - the responsible parties essentially received a light scolding since they are athletes and hence 'untouchable'. They should also do something about all the rapists, it's a bit absurd how many of my friends have classes with someone they have been sexually assaulted by.
PHS is a high pressure HS that focuses on grades and test scores. The class structure can be challenging because some classes are taught in 2 Quarters - making it a very fast pace. Hopefully it will ensure college readiness!
