Shanghai-England Exchange Programme.

During the Autumn term, I was privileged to be selected to represent the North Midlands Maths Hub and The Priory Primary School in China for the Shanghai-England exchange programme. The two-week visit allowed me to observe Chinese teachers further developing my understanding of a mastery approach to the teaching of mathematics. Whilst I was there I was also able to deliver a variety of lessons to the pupils in the schools I visited. The whole experience has enabled me to provide our staff with the insight and expertise required to deliver our mathematics curriculum at the highest possible standard.

I am looking forward to welcoming the Chinese teachers back to England in March. Although they will not be delivering any lessons at The Priory, I have arranged for them to visit our school so they can have a taste of what our school is like as well as allowing the children to meet the Chinese teachers I worked with.

This exchange programme, as well as the work we have recently done with the Cayman Islands and other local schools, continues to showcase the high-quality maths curriculum we provide for our children.
