Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany

Prince Frederick Augustus, Duke of York and Albany, was born into the British royal family as the second son of King George III and Queen Charlotte. He embarked on a military career, rising to high command and eventually serving as Commander-in-Chief during the Napoleonic Wars. Despite early setbacks, including a failed campaign during the War of the First Coalition, he later contributed significantly to the reorganisation of the British Army. His reforms improved structural, administrative, and recruiting aspects of the army, earning him recognition for his impact on military history. Additionally, Frederick served as Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück in the Holy Roman Empire from infancy until 1803.
