Interesting album from the pre-classic period of The Moody Blues. There's a mix on this recording, some songs are in the same vein as the pre Hayward and Lodge Moodies. The rest reflect what will come in the classic seven. Hayward's vocals on the early sounding tracks leaves something to be desired. The last several tracks are where this album takes off, giving us that great classic Moody Blues sound. Needless to say these later tracks are what save this recording. "Late Lament" is a really great cut albeit a short one which would reappear on "Days of Future Passed". Overall this is well worth owning due to it's historical status.
