Audience Member A schizophrenic storytelling hot mess of such epic proportions that can't even manage to keep the chronological details of its storyline straight. Outfest awarded it the Grand Jury Award for Best Screenwriting which makes one wonder if the entire panel was either headless and/or related to the writer. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Difficult to follow- many scenes had nothing to do with anything. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member The ending song is amazing Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Sadly, the poster is the best thing about this movie. Low quality film, awful lighting, unappealing characters and almost nonexistent sound editing make this film hard to watch. The film thinks it's more profound than it is and comes off like the brainiac you knew in junior high lecturing you for 90-plus minutes on his thoughts about unremarkable topics. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Soundtrack Was Pretty Good But The Dialouge Kinda Sucked. The Moody Vibes Of Social-Pressure Vs Complex Realties Shoots Right (Or Left??) Across The Bow Of Political Conformity. "What? Are You Suggesting The Cause, Is Not More Important Than The Individual?".. The Story Means Well..But Lacks A Meaningful Outcome. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I stopped watching it about 20 minutes in and returned it back to Netflix. Enough said. Peter Debruge Miami Herald While the movie's discussion points certainly rank on par with those political thrillers, there's not enough substance for the movie to succeed on its own merits, a point underscored by posters selling the movie on Newton's perfectly airbrushed chest. Rated: 2/4 Sep 15, 2006 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A polemic masquerading as a movie, Poster Boy unspools like a humorless lecture on right-wing homophobia. Rated: 2/5 Aug 28, 2006 Full Review Ann Hornaday Washington Post Although audiences will admire the film's do-it-yourself energy and commitment, Poster Boy finally collapses of its own contrived weight, deflating just when it should soar into madcap -- or at least thoughtful -- satire. Aug 25, 2006 Full Review David Lamble Bay Area Reporter Newton gives a very nuanced take on a character growing and changing before our eyes, and Noseworthy is nifty as a kind of Kevin Bacon-like trickster. Not to be missed. May 12, 2020 Full Review Michael Szymanski Hollywood.com Rated: 3/5 Nov 20, 2008 Full Review Don Willmott Filmcritic.com We all sat around in college having the sort of angry liberal rap sessions that this film painstakingly recreates. We don't have to relive them now. Rated: 2/5 Dec 2, 2006 Full Review Read all reviews
