Pneumonia

Released in 2001, Pneumonia is the third and final album from the alt-country band Whiskeytown.

The album is commonly referred to as a great “lost” record for fans because of the lapse of time between its recording and release to the general public. During that time the band lost their record deal in the midst of a merger between Polygram and Universal Music Group. The band broke apart following the lossed deal.

Lost Highway Records eventually released the album which was produced by the son of musical lengend Glyn Johns, Ethan Johns. The album’s recording techniques represent Johns and frontman Ryan Adams' attempt at producing a Stones/Beatles-type of raw sound.

Pneumonia received numerous positive reviews by critics once it was finally released two years later than expected.
