Visited on a dreary day as did a foreign exchange group of high school students as well as local 8th graders. Enjoyable and informative. Because of the limited number of visitors the many questions asked were answered by informative employees. Area is clean. A bit pricey even when senior rates are considered!

When we purchased the tickets for the Plimoth Patuxet Museum, there was an option to add a tour of the Mayflower II ship (at an additional cost). We opted not to do this, in part because we had seen the large replica at the museum in Provincetown and in part because we had just toured a lot of ships in Mystic CT but did go to see it. I think that was the right decision.
These are photos of the Mayflower II. It is a full-scale reproduction of the original Mayflower, located in downtown Plymouth MA (in the same park as Plymouth Rock). What finally became of the original Mayflower is an unsettled issue. Charles Edward Banks, an English historian of the Pilgrim ship, claims that the ship was finally broken up, with her timbers used in the construction of a barn at Jordans village in Buckinghamshire England.

Very moving monument. Make sure you take the time to read it. I initially just looked from the road but went back the next day to get a better picture. Glad I did because I would have missed so much.

Enjoyed our visit to an informative and pleasant addition to our information-gathering time around the Pilgrim settlements in Plymouth from 1620 onwards. Well laid out, good signage and display boards, authentic artifacts, historical paintings in a spacious gallery, small but useful gift/bookstore. A useful and interesting way to spend and hour and more. Good value too.

The ladies that helped us could not have been more helpful and charming. They talked us through the important sights to catch with our limited time. Lovely!

What a pretty garden! There’s a path that takes you all the way to the Jenny pond. This garden has a lot to see. I’m glad we were able to explore.

Plymouth Rock is located in Pilgrim Memorial State Park on the shore of Plymouth Harbor. It is the site of disembarkation of the Mayflower Pilgrims who founded Plymouth Colony in December 1620.

It is very easy to find while in Plymouth, you can park your car easily in the town and walk to the Memorial. It is outside and easily available.

Our whole purpose with our visit to Plymouth was to explore the history of the Pilgrims. We actually had a descendent of the Howland's with us and that made it a bit more special. The house was very interesting and the docent did a great job explaining the history of the house as well as the contents. I would definitely recommend it to someone who is exploring the history of the area. We loved it!

The museum was an eye opener. The re-enactors that were there gave a thorough and interesting overview of the mills workings and how it was the center of life in the village.
