Playmobil Movie was created in celebration of the 40th anniversary for the Playmobil franchise. However, the film was held back many years into production.
Playmobil Movie premiered on the 10th of June 2019 at the Annecy Festival in France, and the 4th of August 2019 at the BFI ⁽ ᴮʳᶦᵗᶦˢʰ ᶠᶦˡᵐ ᴵⁿˢᵗᶦᵗᵘᵗᵉ ⁾ cinema in London, England. It was released in cinemas on the 7th of August 2019 in France and the 9th of August 2019 in the UK, with worldwide releases following shortly after.
The story takes place with siblings Marla and Charlie, who end up into the magical and wonderful world of Playmobil. As Charlie disappears within the Playmobil universe, it's up to Marla to find him and safely bring them both back home. She makes some quite unique friends along the way.
