Adirondack Studios, the Bezark Company and Pure Imagination Studios are celebrating the launch of the new ‘Invasion of the Planet of the Apes’ 3D ride at Genting SkyWorlds.

The immersive attraction at Genting SkyWorlds in Malaysia is inspired by the Planet of the Apes film franchise. It uses a trackless ride system with simulator effects, wrap-around 3D media scenes, scenic design and animatronics.

To protect the apes from a marauding army, riders experience a thrilling chase through the streets of post-apocalyptic San Francisco, even making their way across a collapsing Golden Gate Bridge.

“We’re tremendously pleased with this spectacular attraction, and our guests love it. Adirondack, Bezark, and Pure Imagination did a great job in bringing the apes to life at Genting SkyWorlds,” said Aaron Soo, senior vice president of attractions and tenancy at Resorts World Genting.

The Bezark Company, an international creator of experiences, provided the ride’s concept and story, as well as the concept design, show set, schematic design, scene timing, scriptwriting services, media storyboards and projection planning.

“What a fantastic adventure! We’re delighted we were able to take this daring journey across the San Francisco Bay with Caesar and his apes,” said Adam Bezark, president and executive creative director at the Bezark Company.

Immersive ride experience

Using Bezark’s creative design and story, Adirondack Studios, a company that provides creative solutions for designers, artists, producers, and owners across the themed entertainment industry, worked alongside the Genting creative team and the intellectual property (IP) owner.

Together, they developed the final design, fabrication and installation of the attraction’s show elements, including scenery, graphics, lighting, projection, and audio equipment.

Adirondack Studios CEO Michael Blau said the company “truly enjoyed telling the story in ways we know best — through collaboration with an expert project team to create this world-class attraction“.

Finally, Caesar and his apes were brought to life in vibrant 3D video by Pure Imagination Studios, an LA-based media production and experiential design company.

“This new ride brings to life one of the most iconic movie franchises of all time in a way never before experienced in Malaysia,” said Josh Wexler, chief executive of Pure Imagination. “We are thrilled to be a part of an incredible team that is ‘wowing’ theme park goers of all generations with this new non-stop adventure.”
