Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School Reviews
Rating 3.8 out of 5 280 reviews
From my experience at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School, the worst aspect of my experience was diversity. Being a predominantly white school, it was difficult for me, an asian female, to really make friends. Having moved from the city, it was definitely difficult to adjust to this school because of its lack of diversity and because everyone's cliques had been together since elementary school. However, I must say that the music and arts programs as well as the sports programs at this school were exceptional. In band class, the music was difficult but taught me how to practice effectively as well as efficiently to get to my goals. Also, being a player in my varsity girl's golf team, was an amazing time and opportunity to be able to practice my favorite sport every day. Both of these aspects required grit and effort but I found them to be the most rewarding times from my high school life.
I love my school, teachers and counselor are very helpful. Lot of clubs for extra curricular activities. Many opportunities for sports. I have amazing friends and we have access to various resources
It’s an amazing school academic wise. Teachers are always there if you need help with class work or home work. There are many clubs you can join so you could definitely find something you’re interested in. There are many interesting electives as well! Personally, the only downside is there aren’t many hispanic or black students. There are many white, asian, and south asians but barely any hispanics or black students. So if you’re in this pool of people you could occasionally feel lonely. In terms of academics it’s pretty competitive, so at times you could feel stupid for not understanding things if you discuss it with classmates or friends.
