Food and Drink Services Returning to the Plains of Abraham Starting in June

News release

Québec, Thursday, April 18, 2024 – The National Battlefields Commission (NBC) is announcing the return of food and drink services on the Plains of Abraham. Starting in June, La Maison Smith will open a permanent branch, as well as operate the Smith Mobile and an espresso bicycle to serve the whole historic site. The numerous visitors to the Battlefields Park will be able to enjoy locally roasted coffees, refreshing drinks, and healthy food.

At the central pavilion near the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand

La Maison Smith will open its doors on the Plains of Abraham on June 8 at the central pavilion. The café will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the year, while at the height of tourist season, its business hours will be based on the calendar of events held at the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand and on the Plains. This new branch will have 55 seats indoors and 50 seats outdoors, and will also serve alcohol.

The Smith Mobile and other activities on the site

To meet the needs of customers throughout the Plains, La Maison Smith is planning to deploy its Smith Mobile. Depending on the weather and planned activities, this mobile café will park at the busiest spots in the park, primarily the Joan of Arc Garden, the sports field, and the Cap Diamant sector. The Smith Mobile will also head to strategic spots during major events on the Plains such as the Festival d’été de Québec, the Fête nationale, and Canada Day events.

Typical of the company, La Maison Smith has one more trick up its sleeve to surprise visitors during summer on the Plains… its espresso bike! This is a fun, flexible addition to the team to help La Maison Smith reach visitors across the park.
