About
The city's largest public square has a lengthy history as well - it served as the site of the guillotine that was used to execute Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Robespierre and many others during the French Revolution.

Quite a big open space (A feast for the eyes with the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower in view) between the Gardens Tuileries and the Champs Elysees, making it the largest square in paris.

The centre piece, is the Obelisk, from Luxor, Egypt, with two opulent fountains, one either side, circled by gilded ornate lampposts, topped of with eight statues representing the main cities of France.

The only minus and a small one at that is there is a lot of traffic, within the square, maybe one day they will pedestrianise it.

It's huge. You have fountain and egiptian obelisk, which was a gift from egypt after Champolion made his Discovery and broke the code for hyerogliphes. Even now you can see the hyerogliphes on it, like symbol of ancient history. When you are standind there, you can see avenue Champs-elysee, in fool lenth. Near is Tuleries park, if you're needing some time to relax in nature. Amazing. It's must see if you are first time in Paris❤️

Place de la Concorde is a huge public square where many important events in French history took place, including all of the royal beheadings during the French Revolution. The centerpiece is a 3,400 year old obelisk from Luxor, which was a gift from Egypt. There are also 2 immense attractive fountains.

Famously the site of the guillotine during the years of the Revolution, nowadays it is a large open space used mainly as a traffic intersection, but there are interesting enough monuments here including the oldest structure in Paris, the Egyptian Obelisk brought here from the Luxor Temple.
The views from here are good, with some of the city’s most palatial buildings (and a glimpse of the Madeleine) to the north, the Tuileries gardens to the east, the Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe to the west, and part of the Assemblée Nationale over the River Seine to the south plus views of the Eiffel Tower.
This isn’t a place to linger, though. I walked up to the base of the obelisk to look at the inscriptions before we continued our walk from the Tuileries to the Musée d’Orsay a few minutes away across the River Seine.

Place Concorde is one of the most (if not the most) beautiful squares in Paris. It's at the end of the Champs Elysee, just before the Tullier park leading to Louvre. Magnificent fountains and an original obelisk brought from the Luxor temple adorn it.
What always annoyed me was the giant ferris wheel standing here (not belonging here at all) and obrstructing the views. Luckily, this time I saw they moved it aside in the Tullier park.

Place de la Concorde is a large public square. It is a central area and an attractive one as well. There are several monuments and it is a place to walk around or just stand or sit or meet up with people. There are a couple of beautiful fountains and the Egyptian obelisk which add more beauty to the square. On the one side are the Tuileries Gardens and the Arc de Triomphe at the other end of the Champs Elysees. And of course there are many more sights besides these.

Place de la Concorde is another Paris highlight that every visitor must see. A huge and busy square with crazy traffic, surrounded by historic buildings on one side, including Hotel de Crillon, and leading onto the Champs d'Elysee. A great central location with lots of picture opportunities. Watch out for the traffic...

We walked from The Louvre to here which didn't take too long. Large square with statues, obelisk and fountains. The roads are very busy around it so it is loud with traffic but still a nice place to see and get great views of the Champs Elysees.

Coming out from Musee de l’Orangerie you will are the Place de la Concorde right in front o you. It is a large public square with the Champs-Élysées Avenue behind the obelisk. Many notable public executions were held here during the French Revolution including Marie Antoinette.

Known as Place de la Revolution during the French Revolution, this is a very large square wherein heavy traffic crosses daily. There area many areas for bikes and pedestrians as well, but be very mindful as traffic tends to barrel through without stopping. Don't assume cars will stop for you. Keep your wits about you when taking in the site so as not to get hit while standing still either.
