Herbert A. Chesler, Associate Professor of Economics,
joined the department in 1963 as a research associate in the Center for Regional Economic Studies.
My primary teaching assignments have been
in the area of labor economics, labor union theories,
collective bargaining and undergraduate
macroeconomics. My current research activity involves surveying
and reporting on the labor market experiences of liberal arts
graduates from the University of Pittsburgh. I am also the
contact person for students interested in Phi Beta Kappa.
