Herbert A. Chesler, Associate Professor of Economics, joined the department in 1963 as a research associate in the Center for Regional Economic Studies. My primary teaching assignments have been in the area of labor economics, labor union theories, collective bargaining and undergraduate macroeconomics. My current research activity involves surveying and reporting on the labor market experiences of liberal arts graduates from the University of Pittsburgh. I am also the contact person for students interested in Phi Beta Kappa.
