Toop continues his mid-'90s hot streak of evil ambient with Pink Noir. This time around, things are quite a bit noisier than on the last two albums... a bit funkier, a bit free-jazzier, a bunch freakier. At least one saxophone fights desperately but doesn't make it out of the title track alive.
Also new to the soup are vocals: first a chipper British matron reading a children's story on "Ultra-Paste", then Japanese women singing and speaking on tracks 5-6, then a multi-lingual man talks us through "Mamba Point". All of these I find much more pleasing than the whispering Toop to come on the next two albums.

Pretty interesting stuff. Just when a passage of distant, tribal ambient seems to float away... the saxophone moves in... though somewhat unexpected it fits right in. Futuristic and moody!
