Syd Barrett - Official Website

The late Roger ‘Syd’ Barrett, from Cambridge, was a co-founder of the 1960’s music group Pink Floyd and performed on lead guitar and vocals. He also composed many of their songs. He was responsible for inspiring an entire generation of musicians to develop their own indigenous brand of English rock music.

Syd was quintessentially English, penning idiosyncratic songs unique in style and tone.  He had a hugely attractive personality and with his good looks he was difficult to ignore. He was a quick-witted clown who kept family and friends laughing at his good-natured cheekiness throughout his younger years. Always interested in experimenting with music, he played the recorder, piano, ukulele, Jew’s harp and guitar all to a good standard.

Dominoes is the third song on Barrett - the second and final studio album released by Syd Barrett in 1970

"Dominoes" features imagery of regret and recollection in the lyrics. The song features a backwards guitar solo by Barrett, and organ and Wurlitzer by Wright. The song's "You and I" lyric refers to the tail end relationship Barrett had with Lindsay Korner
The first of three songs on the album which lyrics point to anguish ("In my tears, my dreams").
Barrett performed the song for the Bob Harris' show in 1971.

Medikamente bringen Ordnung in Dein Gehirn...

Been listening to the “Barrett” album a lot lately. It’s so lovely.

I love this song🎶🌹

Is the Bob Haris show mentoned anywhere on video?

Love it… his two solo albums are amazing considering the circumstances. Thankfully they came out at all. I find them unique and almost a strange farewell in a way. This is the last time you’ll hear from me sort of thing. Then he basically disappeared…

I had a phase of having a mid-morning nap to this album and always dozed off to this track. Lovely stuff.

I love it 🩷🫶🏻

One of Syd's most atmospheric songs.

An amazing lyricist. A pity that he stopped writing so soon.

My absolute favorite song by Syd. So melancholy.

Need to get the whole Madcap Laughs album on Spotify

Probably the best song of his solos

A wonderful song

A beautiful song.

. . .The man 'iconic' was the word written for!

I didn't think there were any official lyrics coz Syd didn't write down any of his words.

David Gilmour should also be the author with this song.....🤔

Is there a non Murdoch means of watching it yet?

Still can’t watch it. This is ridiculous. Sky Arts is on Freeview. But not playing tonight’s content in the mobile app. So I ask once again. Will this ever be available on Amazon or ITunes Store ? If so when ?

When will this show in USA 🇺🇸

is this the first broadcast on terrestial television?

This was so wonderful. I had forgotten how lovely Syd Barrett's voice was. I have pulled out my collection of CDs and enjoying every moment listening to them.

Italy?

have you got it yet, is that a reference to the Icelandic eddic poem völuspá? it would make sense cause it is at times a very nonsensical narrative, and then regularly, the narrator asks, have you got it yet? it's like, uh, no, not really. kind of like syd Barrett's lyrics, with full respect. ❤️

What did people think? I found the “re-enactments” by people who bore no resemblance to Syd and co. irritating. Always interesting to hear the views of people who were there at the time, though. Will have another look at it soon. I noticed that someone expressed the view that I hold, which was that Bryan Morrison, their agent, was accepting too many indiscriminate bookings and that contributed to Syd’s overwork crisis.

It was a great film. It was wonderful to hear first hand accounts from Roger's (Syd's) sister, Rosemary, and each of the girlfriends too among many others. And a real tribute to the late Storm Thorgerson.

Is it just a rehash of all the clips and interviews we've already seen?

An hour in and I've learned nothing new, Roger Waters sounds like his interview was recorded underwater and the soundtrack is all over the place, playing late Syd songs over much earlier footage. Very disappointing. Also don't see the point of the contemporary actors jumping into swimming pools, walking through woods etc etc. Smacks of padding things out.

Barrett!!!. . . In studio telling the band my new tune is have you got it yet? Changing a cord each time, Then on stage de tuning his guitar slowly upset the band but pleased the fans, the only 'Barrett' track they put on saucerful was jugband blues . . . have they got it yet? At a gig in a club near the opera house Covent garden he threw a jar full of placebos over the floor because the police raided every gig . . and they did! took us all down 'the nick' but had to release everyone yeehaaa the word iconic applies.

I watched it when it was broadcasted on TV in France...My question is : will this ever be available on DVD?

Just happened to be wearing this today 😉 ✌

Don’t forget this Tom Rosling 🎸✔️

Seen it a month ago, great watch.

I just hope it's respectful and honors Syd in a dignified way. We all know the other stuff

I'm still a bit confused as to why 1975 Abbey Road footage surfaced after 49 years, just as AI software was getting available.

I wish you would release this to a streaming service already. I would love to watch it one day.

Has a few interesting bits but could have lived with less animation/ theatrics and RW, personally speaking. A lot less!

I’ve now seen it twice.

What about Italy?

Quite disappointed with it, nothing new prefer the BBC 2 Arena documentary from some years ago

Watching this...great

Great song!
