Piers Morgan has now claimed Arsenal ‘should sign’ next Thierry Henry in £100m deal

Broadcaster and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has now urged the North London club to sign one striker this summer.

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new goalscorer.

Despite being the top-scoring side in the Premier League this season, there is still a strong argument that Mikel Arteta’s squad is lacking an elite-level No. 9.

Why Arsenal need a new striker this summer

Kai Havertz has shone as a striker for Arsenal in recent months. However, he is not the most reliable finisher, and his long-term future may not be as the spearhead of the Gunners’ attacking unit. Arteta planned to use Havertz as a midfielder at Arsenal this season, and that may well be where the German ends up being most frequently deployed next season.

Gabriel Jesus has endured a dreadful campaign in front of goal. The Brazilian striker has netted just four times in the Premier League season. Whilst the former Manchester City man has plenty of qualities that he can bring to the team, his profligacy is a major problem.

Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah is unlikely to have much more of a future at the Emirates Stadium. The Hale End academy graduate was recently listed amongst 13 Arsenal players who may well leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In what is set to be a busy summer for the Gunners, there are also likely to be a number of incomings. Arteta will be keen to strengthen his first-team squad in a number of key areas, including up front. Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers

The Newcastle United man has been in blistering form this season. The 24-year-old has netted 19 top flight goals for the Magpies this season in 26 outings. He bagged a well-taken brace against Sheffield United last time out.

Newcastle are the thought to want £100 million for Isak. He is certainly highly thought of at St James’ Park. Newcastle staff members have even likened Isak to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. He certainly has attributes in common with the French icon, as he possesses searing pace, is a clinical finisher, and is comfortable operating on the left flank and cutting inside from that channel.

Piers Morgan has now urged Arsenal to strike a deal for the Sweden international. Writing on X, he said “Arsenal should sign Isak.”
