I stayed across from the Duomo & had the most amazing view from my hotel balcony! I visited the Accadamia and saw the David. Glad I got advanced tickets! Enjoyed the markets in San Lorenzo and the best was the Santa Croce church! Loved Florence enough to go back!

must go place in Florence - the view is beautiful. this is the best place to see the sunset from the square. its a small hike from the main city and a very enjoyable walk. Otherwise, also local taxi takes around 12 euros from Duomo to the square. the walk can be down via Arno River.

This spot is very popular and invites a fantastic view of the Firenze skyline. People are generally polite and will allow others to take a picture along the edges either at the corner of the square or along the lower balcony. Arrive ~2 hours before sunset to find a good spot on the steps (often musicians will be playing). There are better places that are less crowded with unobstructed views of the city that locals prefer (such as at the church up the hill), so ask around and don't fall in love with this one location alone.

Sunset is the perfect time to enjoy the view. We arrived 2 hours early to secure a good spot along the railing. Steps were completely full and there were 3-4 people deep behind us. We enjoyed the free music and opportunity to buy snack,s

This is a must-visit if you’re in Florence. The view of the city from the top of Piazzale Michelangelo is so beautiful! Loved it… It got a tad bit chilly up there, so if you’re coming from a warm country like me, you may want to have a light shrug or shawl handy. The place has a lot of touristy food trucks as well in case you get hungry. How to get there? We took a bus to Piazzale Michelangelo, after looking up the route on Google maps. Some people also like to do the walk up, but it could be tiring. We did walk down and that was very enjoyable!

The Piazzale Michael Angelo offers visitors a wonderful opportunity to see Florence in all it's glory. The Duomo, Baptistery and Bell Tower are very visible and the view of the sunset from the top of the Piazzale is mindblowing. Warning to visitors, wear comfortable footwear if the plan is to ascend via foot

The long walk uphill to the Piazzale, is completely worth it. The view is incredible. There are refreshments and toilets at the top, and you can go further up. You can also get a taxi and I think a bus. But there is so much more to see in Florence - far too much in one day. Hope to go back for 3 or more. Beautiful city! As to be expected the centre can be very expensive. Got caught by accidently ordering large gelatos - which were delicious but cost 15 euros each!! Helps to have done some research beforehand and have a good map.

This is the place for getting a spectacular view over the inner city of Florence. It can be crowded as many tourists gather in the early evening to get their selfies with the view, at sunset, over the city in the background. As the name implies this square is honoring the sculptor Michelangelo and some replica monuments are here. But such replicas, or the originals, can also be found elsewhere in Florence. There are some parking spaces, but they were closed when we were there, so plan for a walk. While you don’t need a very high level of fitness to walk up to the viewing point, you should be aware that it is still quite a walk. Especially if you are recovering from an ultra marathon or if your knees or lungs aren’t 100 percent.

One of the finest place to be in whole Florence and specially after sunset. Whole place is like party Zone, people having great time with Music and dance . Every tourist must go this place. Bus no 12 and 13 goes their . Tkts are 1.50 Euro with 90 minutes validity after first Validation punch.

We liked Florence a lot due to so much art present in the city and Piazzale Michelangelo was our favorite place in the evening to view the whole city. It was a spectacular view and we went not at sunset but few hours before that. So, we avoided the crowd as well. The place was lively with some live performance going on during that time.
