My sympathy to family and friends of Phyllis. We share being born and raised in Iowa, but I met her in New York when my sister became friends with Phyllis. I have watched her and sought out her older roles. She was a wonderful actress, but she was a better friend to my sister. Rest In Peace.

Such a sweet and wonderful lady! Phyllis was my friend for 53 years, and will be sorely missed by me and all who knew her. A brilliant actor, with great range and depth, she never ceased to find the humor and compassion buried within each character.
I mourn her passing, and share the grief with all her family and friends.

Phyllis was a sweet, charming, wonderful lady. I had the honor of knowing her ever since 1967. She, and my husband Joel Kramer, acted together at the Hilberry Theatre in Detroit for three years.
A consummate actor, Phyllis imbued every character she portrayed with depth and an insight into the human psyche, be it a comic role or deadly serious.
A dear friend, whose career I followed with pride for 53 years. You will be sorely missed!
