Introduction

The show follows the lives of Kate Bradley, Joe Carson, and Kate's three daughters as they run the Shady Rest Hotel between Hooterville and Pixley. Their usual way of transportation is by a locomotive called the Hooterville Cannonball. The Show was created by Paul Henning who had also created The Beverly Hillbillies a year earlier. Later in the Fourth Season we are joined by Steve Elliot and by Dr. Janet Craig in the Sixth.
