An interview with veteran Radio Caroline jock Peter Phillips will be aired on Community radio station SWINDON105.5 in 3 weeks time. It is scheduled to go out first on Tuesday 1pm and then repeated on the following Wednesday 6pm, and will also be available on their catch up service. Should be worth a listen.

Someone did send him an email whilst at Radio Caroline a year ago telling Peter that he looked like and sounded like Jacob Rees Mogg lol! Peter wasn’t impressed…

Aka 'Peter Phillips' was his air-name during his long period on Radio Caroline 319m / 963 Khz from the Ross Revenge. He was not all that keen on the Caroline album format playing "good music". So, he moved over to Caroline 558 (nee 576 kHz AM) and became music and format controller of Caroline 558 from the Ross Revenge for a long period. He had the nic-name of 'World Service' when on Caroline due to his voice. Great humour and good choice of air-name to match his voice.

Nothing but respect for Peter who as Craig mentioned transformed the 558 service into something worth listening to during the mid to late 80s.

However, I can't help thinking why Swindon 105.5 are having him on as a guest? Does he have any connection to Swindon or is it an anorak love-in?

Editing out the word "late" I'm sure those words were first mentioned in 1985 and many times since.

I’m sure there are politics and factions like any organisation, but it’s a shame these guys aren’t (for whatever reason) on 648 any more. They are memorable, authentic names from offshore Caroline, for me at least.

Tom was back on Caroline for the Spirit of the 70s broadcast live from the Ross Revenge last July as were many from that period.
