Good film for the entire family
I had heard of this film, but had never seen it. I'm glad that I was able to find it! It's a good family film, with facts about the Pony Express service that I wasn't aware of. Most people only think of Leif Garrett as a singer/teen idol, but he shows his talent as an actor in this film with a sensitive, engaging performance. A very enjoyable film!

One of the best ever
Even though this is a period piece it shows the problems of a disfunctional family and lack of communication. It also shows how those can be overcome. Life lessons of love of people and animals. Always makes me cry but I have loved it since it first came out. Recommend highly.
