PETER FACINELLI
Peter Facinelli has established himself as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors with distinctive and impressive performances. He has formed his own production company, A7SLEFilms, and is currently working on a variety of projects which allows him the opportunity to expand his creative talents as a writer, producer, director and actor.
Peter currently stars opposite Edie Falco in Showtime’s critically acclaimed new comedy series “Nurse Jackie”. He appears as Dr. Fitch Cooper, a handsome golden boy afflicted with a quirky variation of Tourette’s Syndrome. “Nurse Jackie” was named one of the American Film Institute’s Top Ten TV Shows of 2009 and was also nominated for a 2010 Writers Guild Award in the “New Series” category. The show won the 2010 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Edie Falco). The show was picked up for a second season the day after the series premiere aired. Season 6 of “Nurse Jackie” will air on Showtime in 2014. It is on Sunday nights, 9 pm EST.
Peter also has a recurring role in Season 5 of Glee! On the series, Peter plays Rupert Campion who is the director of the Broadway show “Funny Girl”.
Projects that are currently being worked on or awaiting release include Protocol: Orphans – a comic book co-written by Peter. The first issue was released in November 2013 with 3 more issues following monthly; Gallows Hill – a supernatural horror story in which he has a starring role; Freezer – an action/thriller with Dylan McDermott; Walter – in which Peter portrays a fireman and The Last Word – a paranormal horror film which is being developed by Peter’s production company. Peter recently announcedA7SLE Films has acquired the rights to “The Devil’s Rooming House”. Written by M. William Phelps, the story is a historical true crime. As described on Phelps’ website “A silent, simmering killer terrorized New England in 1911…a woman who was both a Black Widow and an Angel of Death.” Also in the pipeline is Street Soldier in which Peter is partnering with Fox to bring to the station’s lineup as an event series. Peter will have the starring role and will serve as an executive producer.
Peter starred as Dr. Carlisle Cullen, the altruistic patriarch of the Cullen coven, in the blockbuster feature films, The Twilight Saga: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 for Summit Entertainment. The studio’s Twilight film franchise is based on Stephenie Meyer’s #1 New York Times bestselling series. The films have broken multiple box office records. Twilight earned the 2nd biggest opening day for a non-sequel, behind only Spider-Man, and opened at #1 in 23 international territories. The Twilight Saga: New Moon shattered the records for opening day and midnight showings. In addition, with $142.8 million its opening weekend New Moon earned the third highest-grossing opening behind only The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3 and the biggest of 2009. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film based on the blockbuster book series, sold $68.5 million worth of tickets in the U.S. and Canada on its opening day. That’s the second-highest total for a single day in box office history. Peter reprised his role of Dr. Carlisle Cullen for Breaking Dawn – Part 1 which opened on November 18, 2011 earning $72 million on opening day. Peter also can be seen in the movie “Loosies” which he wrote and stars in. Peter plays a young pickpocket in the New York subways, living a fast and free lifestyle when is confronted by a woman with whom he had a one night affair. She informs him that she is pregnant with his child. He must now choose between continuing the lifestyle he leads or take responsibility for his actions. The movie is now available on DVD & Blu-Ray.
One of Peter’s most celebrated roles was as Donovan “Van” Ray in the 2002-2003 Fox tv series Fastlane. Along with Bill Bellamy who played Deaqon Hayes, they portrayed two mismatched cops teamed together by shady vixen police lieutenant, Wilhelmina “Billie” Chambers, in a secretive undercover division of the Los Angeles Police Department. Everything we keep, we use,” their base of operations is the “Candy Store”—a warehouse containing a fortune in confiscated cars, clothes, weapons and everything else needed to blend into the seedy criminal underworld of Los Angeles. In 2007, Peter starred in ARC as Paris Pritchert, a former police officer turned drug dealer and addict who embarks on a quest to find a missing child in the hope of redeeming his eroding character.
Peter starred opposite Matthew Broderick and Brittany Snow in the dramedy, Finding Amanda, which premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival. His portrayal in The Big Kahuna as a Bob Walker, a devout Baptist whose strong religious beliefs bring him into sharp conflict with his older and more cynical colleagues, earned him rave reviews. Also starring Kevin Spacey and Danny De Vito, the film premiered at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival and was also accepted at the Toronto Film Festival that year. His additional feature film credits include The Scorpion King opposite Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Penny Marshall’s Riding in Cars with Boys opposite Drew Barrymore, a starring role in Walter Hills’ sci-fi thriller Supernova with James Spader and Angela Bassett, Can’t Hardly Wait opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt, Dancer, Texas Pop. 81 with Breckin Meyer, and Foxfire opposite Angelina Jolie.
Peter also had a recurring role on “Damages”, FX’s award winning legal thriller starring Glenn Close. The show’s first season finds Patty Hewes (Close) attempting to win a class-action lawsuit against the former CEO of a corporation (Ted Danson). Her entire case hinged on the concealed testimony of Gregory Malina, portrayed by Peter. His additional television credits included a recurring role as a promising art student and love interest for Lauren Ambrose’s character in the award winning HBO Series “Six Feet Under.” Facinelli shared the cast’s 2005 nomination for the SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a Drama.
