Work Text:
The middle of the night,
A tug on her hips,
A smile on her lips,
A brush of a kiss.
Arms around each other
“I missed you,” he says.
“I missed you too,” she replies.
♡
He wraps her in his arms
She lets out a content sigh
The warmth of him
not just the warmth of the blankets.
She always sleeps better in his arms
She wishes it could always be like this.
He’s home at last.
♡
Long days apart,
Nights too short together
But she’s so happy when he’s here.
It’s nice not to worry about him.
She’s always worried when he’s away
She’ll keep him safe in her arms,
And she’s safe with him.
♡
A whisper of love
A promise of devotion
Her heart is full
Her heart is complete
No matter how far he has to go,
He’ll always find his way home.
She is his home.
♡
Stolen moments through the day
Like the brush of their hands
A kiss when no one sees
Smiles across the room
Moments that mean so much
She aches for more -
for more than just moments.
♡
She catches his eye across the room
Her dark curls and red lips
She lights up a room
Her beauty, her heart, her soul, her mind
He’s so lucky to be hers.
Loving her makes him whole,
Loving her fills his whole heart.
♡
She smiles when she sees him
His golden hair and ocean blue eyes
Strong, noble, and sweet - and he’s all hers
He’s staring at her but she doesn’t mind
She loves how he admires her.
Her heart flutters despite the night they spent
Or is it because of it?
♡
She can’t wait for the day to be over
So she can wrap him in her arms
So she can kiss him again and again
He can’t wait either -
for the day she’ll be his
She’s already his,
but he wants forever.
♡
When the war is over he’ll propose
They’ll be free to have a life together
If he can wait that long to ask.
He wants moments that aren’t stolen
He wants every moment with her
He will always love her,
always and forever
♡
She knows he wants to marry her
She knows why he’s waiting to ask
The uncertainty of war hangs over them
He doesn’t want to break her heart if he’s lost
She wants him anyway, heartbreak and all
“Ask me,” she pleads.
“You know I’ll say yes.”
♡
“I know, sweetheart,” he says
“Then let’s get married.
Our moments will no longer be stolen.
I’ll share my life with you.
Our hearts will be full.
I’ll love you forever,
And I’ll always be yours.”
♡
She kisses him and holds him close
“Oh, darling, I can’t wait to be your wife.
You’re already mine, but I want forever.”
So they married and the war was won
They were happy forever,
And loved each other every day.
Every moment.
♡
Their friends say
No one has ever been as happy
No one has ever loved so much
They complete each other.
There’s never been such a devoted husband
Or such an adoring wife
And they lived happily ever after. ♡
