Paul Pogba receives lifeline from Russian club despite doping ban

Could this be a lifeline for Paul Pogba? The French midfielder has been handed a shock opportunity to continue his career, despite facing a four-year ban from football due to a doping violation.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pogba has received an offer from Russian club Broke Boys FC to play in their Media Football League (MFL). The MFL is a non-FIFA affiliated league that features celebrities and influencers, and it could provide Pogba with a chance to stay involved in the sport while he serves his suspension.

Broke Boys FC make their move

Broke Boys FC sporting director Artjom Chatjaturjan has confirmed the club’s interest in Pogba, stating: “It may seem like a joke, but we called him. So far he has politely refused. He is in a complicated moment of despair, there is a need for time to accept that one of the best footballers in the world will not be able to play for so long. At the moment, the MFL is the most serious league in status and level in which Pogba can play.”

Pogba’s doping ban has left him in a difficult position, with his options for playing professional football severely limited. The MFL may not be the most prestigious league, but it could offer Pogba a chance to maintain his fitness and sharpness while he awaits the outcome of his appeal against the ban.

Will Pogba accept?

It remains to be seen whether Pogba will accept Broke Boys FC’s offer. The former Manchester United and Juventus star is a proud and ambitious player, and he may be reluctant to play in a non-professional league. However, the opportunity to stay involved in the sport he loves could be too tempting to resist.

Pogba’s future is uncertain at this point. He is still appealing his doping ban, and there is a chance that it could be overturned or reduced. However, even if he is successful in his appeal, he may struggle to find a top club willing to take a risk on him. The offer from Broke Boys FC may be his best chance to continue his career at a competitive level.
