Juan Carlos Fernandez, left, pleads guilty Thursday in Miami-Dade court to the 2003 killings and will serve 30 years in prison. 
Twelve years after the slayings of Coral Gables Dr. Paul Jarrett, 82 and his son Gregg Jarrett, 47, the third and final defendant in the case, Juan Carlos Fernandez, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Paul and Gregg Jarrett were shot to death inside their Coral Gables home as they slept. The break-in was orchestrated by Maria Catabay, the doctor’s former office manager. Prosecutors said she dispatched her boyfriend, Fernandez, to the Jarretts’ house to retrieve a letter in which she admitted embezzling from her boss.
