Joao Palhinha has been discussing some of the best midfield players in Premier League history.
Speaking to Mail Sport on TikTok, the Portuguese midfielder was asked to compare some of the best midfield players in the history of the league, and he had some special praise to reserve for one former Tottenham man.
Indeed, while Palhinha was asked about the likes of Roy Keane, David Beckham and Cesc Fabregas, the Fulham star pointed towards Luka Modric as one of the best midfielders to ever play in the Premier League.

The Fulham ace was asked about some of the Premier League’s greats.
“Modric or Keane?” Palhinha was asked.
“Modric,” Palhinha said.
“Modric or Fabregas?”
“Modric,” Palhinha said.
“Modric or David Beckham?”
“Modric,” Palhinha said.
“Modric or Patrick Vieira?
“Modric or Vieira, that’s hard choice there, but I’ll go for Modric,” Palhinha said.
Luka Modric is one of the best ever
Luka Modric may not have forged the greatest of legacies in the Premier League, but when you take into account his entire career, he may well be the best midfield player to ever play in England.
Five Champions League trophies, a Ballon d’Or and a World Cup final with Croatia, Modric has gone to an entirely different level since leaving Tottenham for £30m all those years ago.
He’s more of a Real Madrid legend than he is a Premier League legend, but in this context, Palhinha was discussing Modric as a Premier League player, and it’s clear that he’s a huge fan of the former Tottenham man.
It’s interesting that Palhinha put Modric above Patrick Vieira, the Tottenham vs Arsenal narrative there is very strong, while Palhinha is much closer to Vieira as a player than he is to Modric.
Palhinha may be a destructive midfielder, but he’s clearly still a big fan of these more technical players.
