Paseo de la Reforma is a main artery through the city. We chose to get bikes at our hotel and ride through the city on a Sunday morning. The city closes Paseo de la Reforma and some side streets on Sundays between 8:00am and 2:00pm so people can ride bikes, run, walk, rollerblade, etc. through the city. It's an awesome opportunity to get out and move up and down the street. We got our bikes at 8:30am and rode until about 10:00am, because we had a walking food tour in Polanco at 11:00. We were so glad we did the bike ride! We stopped and took pictures at several landmarks and even of some street vendors along the way. It's a beautiful way to get your bearings in the city. Highly recommend!

A lovely walk that had art exhibits on show - for day of the dead? Or maybe there is a rotation all year. Good to stroll along and meander.

One of the main thoroughfares to get through Mexico City, it worth walking in the day time to see some of the sites along the way.

This is a historical attraction - grand with a nice location and cool place to check out! This monument is definitely one you should make a stop to. It is culturally significant in Mexico and is a great place to snap a picture. The location is convenient and had a lot of restaurants nearby. Worth a quick stop for sure! Don’t need more than a few minutes to see unless you want to cross the busy street and sit on the steps soaking the city hustle-bustle. No charge to view.

Paseo de la Reforma is a historic street that is great for walking. It is a lovely wide street with plenty of trees for shade. I saw lots of places to get a coffee or some food. Very safe during the day.

A landmark in the city boasting French street design with scattered monuments along the way as the Caballito, el Ángel, José de San Martin, Bolívar's, and the now removed Christopher Colombus statue from its pedestal to give place to the roundabout de las Mujeres que Luchan.

The hotel I stayed at was off of Paseo Reforma and we used it quite a bit to get from Chapultepec and to do dinner and shopping. The street is lined with pathways for walking, food, coffee, and high end shopping. It is worth taking a stroll on this beautiful street to get a feel of the tourist section of Mexico City.

The main avenue in Mexico City. This is the city's Champs Elysees. Park space along the wide avenue lined with hotels and office buildings. The Angel de la Independencia is the highlight along the road. Closed to traffic on Sundays and only opened to pedestrians and cyclists.

Boa viagem!

Thanks everyone. I have returned from DF and yes I did walk the whole way. It was not far and it was very safe. Places to get coffee along the way. People were great and we walked up to the Angle de Independence .
