Shania G Absolutely fantastic film, the best adaptation of a beloved childhood character I've ever seen. However there was a split second shot of he weirdly realistic beat feet that has haunted me since I saw this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Uriah C My church friend Sam sweared this was the best movie ever. I fell asleep 80 seconds in. Sam lied. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Jack t If you take Rocket Raccoon and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy and put them in the live-action film with human characters like they did with Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, Kangaroo Jack, Roger Rabbit and Detective Pikachu and if you take Postman Pat decades back and put him in the commercials, if you thought and got that, then you have Paddington. Yes, Paddington Bear, a children's character who loves marmalade and explores London and gets himself into a whole lot of trouble all the time. Deep in the jungles of Peru, a British explorer discovers an unknown species of bears. They are intelligent and are deeply fond of marmalade. He names them Lucy and Pastuzo voiced by Imelda Staunton and Michael Gambon, and leaves, telling them that they are always welcome in London. Forty years later, after an earthquake destroys their home, the two bears are forced to seek shelter with their orphaned nephew who is later named Paddington voiced by Ben Whishaw. Lucy encourages Paddington to travel to London as she moves into the Home for Retired Bears. He arrives in London after stowing away on a cargo ship and reaches Paddington Station. He meets the Brown family, who take him home and name him after the station they found him in. That's right, I've said the name, you all get my drift. You know, I kind of had the same impact with Mr Bean, with the way how that this laughter to my very core is that every time Paddington is in trouble, I remember the most that he flooded the bathroom. Not only that, beforehand he even stuck toothbrushes in his ears to clean them. Eww. He does the hard stare when people had forgotten their manners. Next time he'll be doing the same thing in the sequel. Nicole Kidman is in it as well along with Peter Capaldi and Jim Broadbent. As I saw this film the first time I actually really enjoyed it, I really love it. It's funny, it's sweet, it's well written and it's well acted. Everything I love about it really does gets me in stitches when something is about to happen. Now with the sequel, what do you say we take a look at it and see what this one has to offer. If you're looking for something fun and British then Paddington is the one that'll entertain kids and adults. Karen Han Polygon It's just a sweet time for everyone. Sep 29, 2020 Full Review Bilge Ebiri New York Magazine/Vulture Paddington is absolutely, positively delightful. Jan 19, 2015 Full Review Dan Kois Slate Paddington is a wonder: warm, gentle, well-acted, funny without being stupid. Jan 17, 2015 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies There is so much I loved about the movie. Rated: 4/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Anne Brodie AWFJ.org Paddington is an old fashioned live action / animated film that recalls the lushly realised "fairytale" films of the 80's and 90's, and features terrific actors for oomph. Oct 7, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Offers up a message of tolerance. "In London everyone is different," says Paddington, "so everyone can fit in." It's a big idea, washed down with a giant melting-pot of marmalade, but also a timely one. Rated: 4/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
