Gorgeous sounding music accompanying the stories

When I was watching Outlander series I was so impressed with Diana Gabaldon's stories and undeniable exceptional cinematography and music. This CD set includes Season 1 vol. 1, vol. 2 and season 2. From reading composer's notes, Bear McCreary has done a lot of study of transitional Scottish music while extended his creativity to add new flavors for various characters, scenes, and stories, it is truly amazing to see the results and reflection of each moments while listening to each track. Worthy mentioning is the sound quality. Mastered by Pat Sullivan at Bernie Grundman Mastering, including season 3 and 4 (I also have the pleasure to own). The sound quality is phenomenal; Sound stage is wide and detailed; Bagpipes are haunting and engaging; A lot of large percussion were used throughout; highly dynamics with plenty low ends. I am rewatching Outlander series while diving into the critical music listening of these sound tracks, I have had many new discoveries of the intricate details that I didn't notice (or get it) in the past! These are well done music and recording. When I listen, I don't skip any of the tracks (from start to finish)!

I love this set. I only have one complaint:
When you want to watch an extra that’s featured on that disc, you’ll often be prompted to put in a different disc to watch it instead.
The way to fix this is not to offer an extra feature on the disc if it’s not there OR if it’s listed on a certain disc, make sure it’s there on that disc.
For example, if there’s an extra feature re “The Gathering” episode listed on disc one, then that’s where it should be, and not on some other disc.
It’s a pain to keep shuffling discs to see the extras.

The soundtrack stands on its own with selections that are pure pleasure to listen to. They evoke for me the stirring sounds of historical Scotland; they give me what I perceive as a true sense of the people, places and events of those tumultuous and moving years in time.
