- although yes 1965 is when the album was released
The first eight-track machine in the UK was an Ampex machine installed at London's Trident Studios in early 1968. At about the same time Advision Studios installed a similar machine built by Scully.
So probably this cartridge was produced in the early 70s referencing Out Of Our Heads (LP, Album, Mono) LK 4733
8B/9A in dead wax as shown in variant 2. Vinyl is extremely quiet. Sonics have a little more definition and accentuate Jagger''s vocals slightly more than 2016 mono box UK OOOH. Bass is more prominent on UK OOOH from the mono box set but the added bass muddies the overall mix a bit. Both 1965 and 2016 versions are very enjoyable. Used AT 33MONO cartridge.- https://www.discogs.com/release/1844139-The-Rolling-Stones-Out-Of-Our-Heads
Is this some kind of tasteless joke?
Who gave to the technician to do the mastering for this record?
He took playing with Stereo channels very frivolously and thus ruined the recording !!!!
Those buttons on the mixer console mean something, not to be pressed just for fun. 8 measure left channel, 8 measure right channel, but done so unskillfully. The entire sound image has distortion.
A very poorly made record.
I don't know what the original USA edition sounds like, but if it same, then I'm sorry for this shitty job. - This is the version I have except the side 1 matrix ends 1 and the side 2 matrix ends 2. Other than that it all matches. The inner sleeve is marked MADE IN ENGLAND R.S.2-77.
I bought it new in 1981.
I've not heard any other version so I can't compare but this particular copy is very quiet and needs the volume cranked up. - Dark blue teal version. Perfect vinyl pressing - no warping, clean labels, no background noise, no ticks etc. Outstanding sonics with punchy bass and drums. 'very enjoyable pressing with AT33 MONO cartridge.
- I just listened to this pressing compared to another OG London and two OG Decca’s. Maybe it’s the condition because mine is very nice, but it’s very punchy compared to the other three. Sounds great!
- Edited 6 months agoDuring playback of most tracks there is a constant switch between mono and stereo. and someone is haphazardly fiddling with the pan knob. Super annoying and incomprehensible that this version has come onto the market (or is this a mispress??)
