Good mix for a 70's Iconic Band

Obviously, I'm an "older" fan of modern music, otherwise the chances of me buying any Jethro Tull album are pretty slim.

That being said, if you remember the 1970's as a teenager the way I do, and you remember hanging out smoking weed with your friends and listening to some Tull the way I do...I mean, the way I don't (just let me state for the record: "stay away from weed...It's illegal in most states), then you'll dig this collection of Jethro Tull hits. The collection is an excellent span of their popular songs from their early, rock days, all the way until Ian Anderson started to lose his mind and think he was Robin Hood or something...You know, the same way Jim Kerr of Simple Minds did 10 years later.

Anyway,if you want a good selection of Jethro Tull songs, this one is pretty good. I recommend it.

Being a flutist, I'd heard of Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson's flute playing. I'd never really been exposed to his music, tho. Finally I decided it was time, so I looked on Amazon for something that was: (1) inexpensive, and (2) representative of Jethro Tull's music. It's rather difficult to find "typical" Tull b/c of the wide variety of their music and the multiplicity of "best of" collections. Among the "sampler" and "best of" collections, this one was the cheapest, so I chose it!

I found it good listening and it whetted my appetite for more. Thus I've been buying up Jethro Tull cd's. . .

IMO, this is a good starting point. If you don't like it, well, you haven't spent much on it! If you do, this cd can guide you to the Tull sounds you find most appealing and you can buy those albums. Either way, you can pass this cd on to the next potential Tull fan!
