I went crazy over these guys when I was a kid and must confess I still am in love with Peter Noone! The music is fantastic!

I am a Herman's Hermits fan but was dissapointed in the CD set. Mainly because I felt that 6 songs were missing that should have been included. They are: Dandy, Saturday's Child, If You're Thinkin' What I 'm Thinkin', Little Miss Sorrow-Child of Tomorrow, Gaslight Street, and Rattler. Both CDs were only about 25 minutes long so these selections could have very easily fit on the CDs. The CD that I was looking for was called There's A Kind Of A Hush All Over The World, Herman's Hermits but there was no image on the screen. That CD has all my favorites. Some of the selections on this collection were not that good. Quality was fine.

This is the real stuff, the original recordings. 45 tracks on two CDs. A great collection of Herman's Hermits. Has almost all of their hits (but missing are: Can't You Hear My Heartbeat, Dandy, Leaning on a Lampost. These 3 can be found on Their Greatest Hits, which has gotten rave reviews on Amazon).
Beware of the No Milk Today CD, because it is all re-makes, apparently made years later, and is extremely disappointing.
If you only want one Herman's Hermits CD, then this one or Their Greatest Hits are the one(s) to buy.

This 2CD-set on the Dutch Disky label, contains 30 tracks by Herman and his Hermits. Most of the group's US and UK hits from the 60's are included, as well as a few album tracks - all digitally remastered, and the sound quality is excellent. Unfortunately the tracks are in random order, and the packaging is a bit sub-standard with no liner notes and no accompanying booklet. However, with the inclusion of Peter Noone's second solo single for RAK Records, "Right On Mother", everything is forgiven! This rare David Bowie song, originally out in October 1971, appears here for the first time on CD. Peter Noone was in fact the first artist to take a David Bowie song into the charts, with his great rendition of "Oh You Pretty Thing", which reached #12 in the UK in June 1971. Bowie himself played piano on the sessions. Noone and producer Mickie Most admired Bowie's songwriting talents, and Most was hoping to persuade Bowie to write a concept album for Peter Noone, with each song linked to the next. But nothing came of it, and only two Noone-Bowie collaborations ever saw the light of day, "Oh You Pretty Thing" and "Right On Mother". A few more recordings probably lurk in the vaults of RAK/EMI. "Right On Mother" was a complex song, a real test for Peter Noone, who handled the lead vocals very well. Actually an open letter from Bowie to his mum, it described the pleasant surprise he felt at his mother's acceptance of the situation when he started living with his girlfriend Angie. The song had a hand-clapping beat and a hook chorus, and again Bowie's clumping ham-fisted piano was right up front. Strangely it failed to do the trick chartwise, and the single has later become a highly-sought collector's item. Here it is, however, for the first time in CD format. If you're a Peter Noone or David Bowie fan you'll want this double CD in your collection!
