Just found out you left us five years ago. I can't believe you're gone. I've loved your music all my life and was just looking up chords to several of your songs when I found your obituary. Thank you for so many great songs and memories, my sweet teen idol. You'll be in my heart always.

Though I was very young being born in 1951, I loved Bobby Vee's songs. When I listen to them now at 66 you can hear me singing along. My mother suffered with Alzheimer 10 years before her death in 97. Terrible awful slow dieing death is what I call it. Physically healthy and very intellegent woman who slowly slipped away from her family. I am very sorry Bobby Vee and his family had to go through this. Bobby Vee was very much loved by his fans even up to his death. He will be missed.

I know this is a bit late but I just found out about one of the greatest entertainers that I LOVED listening to. Very very sorry. I will forever listen to Bobby Vee's wonderful songs!! It actually brought tears to my eyes when I read about his passing. God, please keep Bobby in your heart and embrace him!

I had the chance to meet Bobby while he was still performing . I was with the group "The Reflections" and we were on the same show in Michigan. We had a chance to talk somewhat extensively and Bobby was kind enough to take pictures with my mother and a friend. I was truly impressed by his genuine sincere and humble attitude. I have had the opportunity to meet and perform with other entertainers of fame but I was never one to speak with or share time with a lot of the "stars" because of the attitudes of some, but I can honestly say that Bobby was so much larger than his talent.I was unaware of his passing until just recently but he was one of the great ones that I wished could have been around forever. You are truly,truly missed.

For some reason, I was unaware that Bobby had passed. I just discovered this today, and it made me quite sad. I remember his music so well through the 60s, and those iconic songs of his are part of my history. Although I never had the privilege of seeing him in person, or meeting him, it's my understanding that he was the ultimate gentleman. He struck me as a man of great personal and professional integrity. If only there were more people in the public eye today who embodied those same qualities.

I had one of the best gigs of my life. Back in the day playing drums at the Friars club on Yonge St. in Toronto with Bobby was so fly. This guy was a star, gentlemen and a superb entertainer. Play on player.

and there's nothing more touching than his
Christmas song "A not Merry Christmas" at

He's one of the very few singers that I didn't manage to see in concert..something that was our loss.
Most important we admired how he conducted himself as a husband, father and human being. God bless his family and Bobby..may you rest in peace.

Every year I've enjoyed his christmas album/Cd as I'm listening currently to. I was born in 1964 and am sure my parents introduced me to him at christmas. I can imagine his great contribute to his span career. My family prays for his children and grandchildren. God will take care of him and his wife.

I met Bobby in Denver when he was on tour. He had that special way to capture the attention of the audience and hold it with his music and I think a big part of it was the kind of a man that he was. Just seem to be so kind to everyone around him. The Lord did not take him But he welcomed him Home. And I'll bet The lord even said " Welcome Bobby,Job very well done my son" Bobby may you rest within the arms of our Lord Now and forever. You are blessed .

If there is a special place in heaven for people like Bobby that left us such wonderful music that will last for many more years then if you look real close you will see Bobby, He will be among the best and in the front row. Bobby was my favorite in the 60s and I still listen to his music. I had the pleasure of meeting him after a show in Florida many years ago, and he was just the nicest person. Today was a beautiful, warm day in Chicago, and I drove around with the windows down singing along to Bobby's music--I know almost every song by heart. He was a beautiful person and will be missed. His music lives on.

On 9th Feb 1962 I saw Bobby at Doncaster Gaumont on the opening night of his first UK tour. His performance left a great impression on me especially when he sang Goffin & King's 'Walkin' with My Angel' which became a favourite of mine. I next saw him in 1985 in a 60s Reunion Show with Rick Nelson and Del Shannon where he stood out as the best stage performer. Three years later he returned to the UK with the original Crickets backing him - a unique combination.
I saw him on each of his six or seven tours after that and met him backstage at the Southport Theatre where he was absolutely charming. When I mentioned that I had a press cutting from his first show he gave me his address in North Dakota and asked if I would send him a copy. I was surprised a few weeks later to get a personal reply thanking me.
He seemed to have had a close knit family (his three sons played in his backing band), was a great performer and a lovely man.

I wasn't of the era and did not know much at all about Bobby Vee or his music altho of course I heard hits while I was very young in the 60's. Now that I'm older, and with my Mom struggling with health issues including dementia, Bobby's passing away struck a chord with me. I began looking into all things Bobby Vee. What a talented singer and musician. I have been tuning into and enjoying very much the Adobe Sessions. Seems he was a nice man with values, from the Midwest, who actually stayed nice and kept values throughout his life, that common thread woven throughout his life. I appreciated how his sons joined him in music. Talented bunch! Deepest condolences to your family.

I HAD THE ULTIMATE PLEASURE OF BEING ONE OF THE RADIO DJ'S BACK IN 1965 TO BE A PART OF WHEN THE DICK CLARK CARAVAN OF STARS ROLLED INTO CHARLESTON SC WITH BOBBY AND SO MANY OTHER ARTISTS. I met Bobby when he was dating Karen at Moorhead State. Karen and I lived in the same dorm. Later on, I took my daughters to the Holiday Star Theatre in Indiana where Bobby was performing and after the concert, we were fortunate to talk to him. And we shared the same week at White Earth Lake and once again enjoyed the music of Bobby Vee, this time with his sons. Thank you for making our world a better place with your music and kindnesses. As a little farm kid teenager, living not far from Fargo, ND, Bobby V's hometown; I remember when Bobby V played in our little farm town, before he became famous. His music was fabulous, and with his good looks, he was certainly a teenage heart throb! Millions of people everywhere loved Bobby V and his music. He brought such great enjoyment to others. Bobby V has passed on, but his music and the great memories he made, will live on forever. Thank you Bobby V. You were and always will be, a great part of your fans' lives. Bobby V is now making Heaven even a better place, by singing with the angels.

My aunt had his albums back in the 60's when I was in my early teens, and we played them all the time. I just fell in love with him and his music like so many other girls did. He had such a beautiful voice and we were all so lucky to have him. Much love to him and his family, as he is reunited with his beautiful wife.

Bobby Vee was my favourite since 1964. I saw him in concert many times including at the London Palladium. When my grandad died I was given the money out of his pocket. I bought his greatest hits LP with it and I still have the record. I also know all his songs and had met him at one of his concerts. I am very sad to be writing this. RIP Bobby.

Bobby, although I was not born in the same era, my parents introduced me to your music, and I was lucky enough to grow up loving it, and still do to this day. I never met you, but you were such a huge part of my life. The first song of yours I learned was "Rubber Ball," when I was about five, and I could sing the "Bouncy Bouncy" part. Your music is tied to so many of my memories, and reminds me of my father, who I lost in 2012. Both of my parents always adored your music. I was listening to "Charms" over and over again Monday morning, in my car. I teared up that evening when I learned that you had passed. I feel like such a huge part of my childhood and life has been ripped away, and I truly hope you know how much joy your wonderful music brought people. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Bobby, and I send my love to your children. May God bless them and look out for them every day. You were amazing, Bobby Vee.

I was a young teenager in Detroit Lakes when Bobby Vee played at the Pavillion on Detroit lake. He was wonderful from the beginning and brought me great memories of growing up in Detroit Lakes ,Minnesota. Never forget you !

Just as Jesus says at Luke 23:43 "you will be with me in paradise." How wonderful that will be!

He brought great joy to my sons landen 10 and Kaden 13. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's three years ago we lost him in April 2016, we got to know Bobby because he was a patient at the same facility. Rest In Peace.

My twin sister & I feel as if we have lost a family member. Bobby Vee was truly the face of a gentle man, and his music will live on in our hearts forever. Our prayers and love to his family at this time.
