Audience Member Leaves you feeling good. Good acting from the cast and kids are very good. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Joel C This is why I've always loved SBS World Movies. Every now and again you randomly watch a film that hits a right note in your heart, and in this case, literally. This is basically The Mighty Ducks but with violins. The authentic acting portrayed by the troublesome kids is very believable and sets up for a great character arc when they nail their big orchestra performance. Their teacher has his own arc where he has to decide if he's teaching to help the kids or simply filling in time between his own musical career. Well done. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member The story is very similar to that of THE VIOLIN TEACHER, by Sergio Machado (2015). However "La Mélodie" is much softer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member 2018-3-18 The kids were bullshitting in the restaurant was the part I totally don't understand. So confusing what the fun is ~.~ Love the sound of violin. I want to learn playing violin and speaking French. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member An amazing movie in Venise film festival... It's so moving, actors are amazing and it's film in a very subtle way... AMAZING !!!! Boyd van Hoeij Hollywood Reporter The cinematic equivalent of a pretty comfortable but also rather everyday sweater. Sep 4, 2017 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) Predictable? Yes. Pleasing? Definitely. Rated: 3/5 Jun 25, 2020 Full Review Jack Blackwell One Room With A View A big-hearted and hilarious ode to the value of learning, teaching, and music. Rated: 4/5 Feb 27, 2019 Full Review Mark Adams Screen International The film's real energy comes from the rougher hewed scenes of the tough-talking class bickering and fighting, with a sense of documentary-realism sitting nicely with the more genial story of a glum violin teacher explaining the joys of classical music.
