My top ten Buffett songs
I saw someone do this earlier in the week and I enjoyed reading what everyone had to say about that list so I’m intrigued to read the comments about mine. Here it is!

-
Cowboy In The Jungle
-

-

Death Of An Unpopular Poet
I agree with almost all of those. 1,2,5,6,7,8,10.
I also love:
Coast of Carolina
He Went To Paris
Bama Breeze
Changing Channels
One Particular Harbour
I’m including Floridays for my daughter, she loves that song.
Changes in Latitudes/Attitudes may always be my favorite. That time in your life when something just makes sense. Yesterdays are over my shoulder, I can’t look back for too long, there’s just too much to see, waiting in front of me, and I know that I just can’t go wrong.
But truthfully, favorite songs change over the years, and especially change with your mood. I’ve been especially enjoying the softer, slower songs these past 10 years. I guess I’m just growing older. Not up.
Huge fan of the Floridays updated arrangement from the Hoot soundtrack.
Sad to say I have not heard about that. And it appears to be a difficult to find album. I’ll keep trying.
first look is such a damn good song. whole LP is timeless
I feel like Havana Daydreamin’ never gets any love. It’s my favorite Buffett song.
Yes
So close! lol. Drop 2/8/10 for changes in lattitude, incommunicado and weather is here.
This is an excellent list. Trying To Reason might be my all-time favorite but I also have a special place for Little Miss Magic, I used to play that one for my daughter when she was a toddler and it still holds a special place for both of us.
I'm here for every top ten. I'd say I don't always agree, but mine change so often, and I often read someone's top ten and think, "Ohhhh, that is a great song. I might have to include that in mine."
I'm not sure if I ever actually agree or disagree.
How about Live recordings vs studio? JB’s songs evolved over time. Some got longer and some disappeared. In listening to many versions over the years I believe there’s magic in both; One Particular Harbor” being a good example. But now that he’s gone, I’m enjoying the live songs again, especially “The Great Filling Station Holdup” and “This Hotel Room” Mac and Jimmy at their best imo I can’t seem to nail down a top ten just yet, maybe a little too soon. I wonder what it would have been like to see Mac and Jimmy finish up a show with an acoustic encore of “Audience of One”?
Not to imply this list isn't going to change tomorrow. There's just too many greats. Today, the rotation goes:
Tin Cup Chalice
Livingston Saturday Night
Boat Drinks
The Weather is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful
One Particular Harbour
Jamaica Mistaica
He Went to Paris
A Pirate Looks at Forty
I Heard I Was in Town
Someday I Will
My top ten changes every few months lmao. I just can’t make a definitive list. It’s impossible.
Some others that you didn’t mention I also love:
I’m No Russian
Bama Breeze
Margaritaville (one day I think it’s overplayed then I listen to it again and realize how great it is)
Johnny’s Rhum
Desperation Samba
Only Time will Tell
Tides
Jamaica Mistaica
Mile High in Denver
Floridays
Nothin’ but a Breeze
Life is Just a Tire Swing
Portugal or PEI
Diamond as big as the Ritz
One Particular Harbor
Still bummed out I never got to see one of his concerts live!
Love this list too!!!
Good list. West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gown is in my top, along with Migration.
Depends on the day. Lone Palm is on my list
