Drake & Central Cee Team Up For First Time On New “On The Radar Freestyle”

The pair have been friends since 2021.

On Friday, Drake and Central Cee stopped by the On The Radar radio show to perform a freestyle, and since it dropped on YouTube, the track has found a way into the Top 10 on the Genius Top Songs chart. Drizzy and Cee’s “On The Radar Freestyle” marks the first time the pair have teamed up for a song, despite being friends since 2021. Cench did, however, make an appearance in the music video for Drake’s Her Loss single “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” earlier this year.

Drake is up to bat first, and the Toronto native starts off cruising around a suburban neighborhood in his hometown. He’s not carrying protection with him because he’s got plenty from the friends he keeps around, who were already selling drugs back in Justin Bieber’s Ontario hometown when Drake was a teenager starring on Degrassi.

On Morningside, got no stick in the ride
If I take flicks with the guys, I gotta put emojis over like three faces ’cause the feds can’t see those eyes
People I shouldn’t be beside
When I was an actor, they would go Stratford just to sell food on Bieber’s side

Later, Drake can’t figure out why women might go after “obedient guys, jokes, and comedian guys” when he’s got everything they’re looking for—he’s over 6 feet tall and selling out concerts that they’re attending. He then uses a British abbreviation for “kissing my teeth”—an expression for being fed up—to complain about the lack of artists he has to look up to now that he’s at the top of the game.

So much for idols, KMT with the eye roll
Knew that I made it when I had drivers holding my last name up in arrivals

Cench is up next, and the U.K. rapper is tired of dealing with fakes who pretend to cry to get what they want and lie about their faith.

Crocodile tears, she ain’t even crying
Why you swearing to God? You don’t even believe in Christ
What you sayin’ wallahi for? You ain’t been on your deen, you’ve been eating swine, nah

He spends the rest of his verse mainly flexing about his meteoric rise and all the money that’s come with it. These days, he’s getting paid like a NFL player and copping Audemars Piguet watches with 18-karat diamonds.

Rap boy on a footballer’s wage, I’m on the same pay as the players at Dallas
What’s making the haters jealous? I’m thinking the AP’s eighteen karats
They call me my government name in Harrods (Uh)
