Does anyone know about the omicron situation in mexico/cancun? We have plans to visit during the holidays and are concerned with the sudden rise in cases now and want to know if the situation is somewhat under control now
Most of all the Eurozone is fully vax with aztrazenca.

It’s probably taking off now. People from all over the world are traveling to Cancun,
You're not lying. It's RAVAGING NYC right now.
Yes, Craig. It’s really hard to explain fast things have changed here. People who have been covid free for nearly two years now are infected. Even vaxxed and boosted. But in the positive side they are hardly ill. And I bet that there are many asymptotic cases as well.
Omicron is likely already active and on the move In Mexico as it, as per Craig is ravaging NYC, and racing down the Mid-Atlantic states and elsewhere in the U.S. Reports of heavy local holiday travel at the land borders and air travel will only hasten it's geographic spread. Mexico is not near the top of the healthcare line when it comes to frequency of genome testing, so I wouldn't rely on their head counts as a full measure of the variants spread. I certainly don't wish it on them but it's like trying to stop an ocean wave from hitting the beach. It's coming. ;-)
Currently in Cancun quarnetining at our resort. Triple vaxxed, tested with a PCR on Wednesday and an at home rapid the morning that we flew (12/18). I tested positive yesterday (day 0) and today is our day 1. Totally symtom free!
If you decide to go make sure your hotel offers free accommodation if you test positive! Feeling very lucky that our hotel does.
Carolyn - which resort out of curiousity are you staying that offers free accomodation if you test positive?
Per another thread, Carolyn is staying at a Secrets Resort. She didn't state which one specifically.
