Unreatful decision. The all-time player for Celtics FC has declined the Swansea City request

Both Celtic and a number of former Parkhead players who have been on the move have had a busy summer thus far. Another former star player for the Hoops is reportedly at the center of a conflict with his current team as he tries to get out before the window closes.

Oliver Ntcham, who spent four seasons with Celtic between 2017 and 2021 as a member of the back-to-back treble-winning team, has since moved to Swansea City of the EFL Championship. The 27-year-old Frenchman was scheduled to start for the Welsh team against Birmingham City this weekend, but Swans manager Michael Duff has disclosed that he spoke with the player over the phone before the game.

Following the game, Duff made the following statement to BBC Sport: “Olivier was in the team yesterday morning.” He spent the entire week on the team. He told me over the phone last night that he didn’t want to play.

“This afternoon was the first time the players found out. Obviously, we were unable to play him, so someone else now has the chance. That’s unfortunate, but that’s football. When a player expresses his desire to withdraw from a game, you put it on hold and work to find a workaround.

“Clearly, there are things happening in the background,” Duff went on. I don’t have much access to it. I believe he wants to move, or that he has moved. He is not the only player who has done so. He must be making an effort to take care of himself.

Ntcham is reportedly planning to move from Swansea City to the Turkish team Samsunspor.
