Ole Werner is full of excitement looking ahead to his new job at Osterdeich: “In the discussions you could tell straight away that both sides share the same opinions on how to play, how to go about your work. That convinced me that Werder is the right challenge for me. Werder is all about a brave, attacking style of play, and a certain togetherness as well. Those are things that I can identify well with and that I can bring with me. I can't wait to finally get going with the team and to get fighting for points.”
Ole Werner started out coaching the youth teams at Holstein Kiel, before progressing to the U23 side and then finally taking over the first team in September 2019. In the 2020/21 season his team reached the play-off spot for promotion to the Bundesliga as well as the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal. Werner left his post after matchday seven this season.
