Quick question about The Older Stuff: Best of Michael Nesmith (1970-1973)

I did a search on Mike Nesmith CDs on Amazon and found a price of $999.99 for The Older Stuff: Best of Michael Nesmith (1970-1973), new or used. I recently pulled this Cd off my shelf, and, while it sounds great, I'm a bit startled at it's apparent value.

Can anyone enlighten me here? Is this the real value? What's the collecting history on this cd?

 

I wouldn't read too much into that price.

While it is collectable, it is long out of print (The Newer Stuff is still available at http://www.videoranch3d.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_code=100-010). I've seen it go for much less. I would say worth no more than $20-$40 used is reasonable (I'm not an authority, don't take my word for it - an authority might say that it really is worth more). I certainly didn't pay too much for mine (maybe $20) not that many years ago.

Often times I see things on Amazon (CD's, Book's etc ...) that are priced from a few cents to a few dollars used - but then there's always that one or two idiot sellers who prices it at several hundred dollars. Who knows why.

Be patient (may take a long while) those seeking it, one will eventually pop up with a much more reasonable price.

 

If anyone really wants this CD I'd gladly part with mine for a mere $800
