I went here during the Zambezi Zinger opening and since they only let you in during reservations and I did the whole park the following day I decided to check out the park. They have their own separate entrance to the water park and they open at the same time, however, I saw that people could not use their season pass to get into the park earlier.

I rode the Zambezi Zinger and some of the other rides for the first hour and then got something to eat and then arrive at the water park at 12pm. I ended up getting an all day locker for $15 dollars. I did have my pouch to store my phone and hold my keys and wallet, but it was uncomfortable. Plus I had my clothes in my bag. Renting the locker was easy and they had a lot of changing stations.

Park gets very crowded, so I would suggest going early. What was really disappointing was half of the rides were closed on one of the busiest weekends. They had only the tube slide, racing slides and the big raft slides. What was closed were the body slides, aruba tuba and one other water ride. They ended up closing the lazy pool for an hour and a half in the middle of the busiest time at 2:30pm. They did not give an explanation. I did go to the lazy pool, but they ran out of the tubes, so I ended up going in there and walking the sucker.

Most of the waits are around 30 to 40 minutes and went on the racing slides and the tubing. I did not go on the big raft ride was that requires 2 to 4 people and I was shy to ask people if I can join them. If I had to do it again, I would have gone on that Sunday as they just had a thunderstorm in the morning and park was empty when I checked it out. I was able to ride the racing slide 2 times and it was fun. Make sure you do go barefooted on the rides as they do not require slippers on them. The lines can be confusing as on the tubing ride as there is a line to wait for a tube and then once you get the tube you wait in the main line. There were people that went into the line without a tube. For the racing slides, there was no lifeguard so I grab the mat and went up. After waiting for 40 minutes, I wanted to reride so I ended up taking the mat and going up the hill without realizing there was now a line on the bottom of the hill with someone checking, so the lifeguard chased me up the hill and told me about it.

Here is some tips, do not buy the fast lane pass, I am sure it is a waste of money. I saw you can use it on the racing slides, but then you do have to wait another 30 minutes. I did not see where else you can use it to your benefit.

I did go to the different pools and the playground so I can get soaked by the bucket and I did have a fun time. I did get sunburned on my back as well. It goes get crowded vs. the main park. I wished they opened more of the rides especially if it was busy.

Decided to go with some family on Labor day weekend as a fun getaway as well as it being the last weekend that it is open and for a birthday. However upon arrival we notice several sections and rides being closed off on the pathways and pools. We thought nothing of it until getting to the lazy river the thing our group was most excited for was closed. We inquired about it from a lifeguard and he proceeded to tell us that they are "understaffed" Which can be understandable as I have noticed that many businesses struggle with that. As we walked towards the hurricane falls we could visibly see eight to ten lifeguards sitting either in the lazy river or on the posts sitting near the edge of water either talking gossip or on their phones. Like I said as well several other rides were closed summing up to about half the park with no explanation. Just roped off or with buoys sectioning off parts of pools giving less room to swim with people being on top of you.

Makes no sense to me why on one of the biggest days for a water park where people would wanna cool of for the holiday it would CLOSE half of its amenities. If you're understaffed don't let people waste there money on tickets and close your park.

Edit - Proceeded to express our concerns knowing we couldn't get a refund, manager scoffed in our face and said even getting the police won't do anything and proceeded to walk away from us, because we pointed out that there is no use in getting tickets if all the rides are closed.

It had probably been 20 years since I'd given Oceans of Fun a solid try. I went once or twice as a kid and enjoyed the wave pool and lazy river but I've never been and still am not much of a pool person. So, when my family suggested a get together at Oceans of Fun I was pretty skeptical. You want me to pack up my family, spend an insane amount of money on tickets, and camp out in the heat at what I considered a glorified public pool all day in the 90 degree heat? I asked myself those questions and then went ahead and purchased the tickets. Not sure what that says about me but I have to say I was really proven wrong about this place.

We arrive and it's much as I remember in its full midwestern theme park glory. If you are expecting Disney you might need a reality check. This is a mid tier theme park and it fits the bill for that in my opinion. The parking is dumb. You are out in a sprawling lot just cooking on a hot day as you unload your car and meander inside to the park. Pro tip on the parking - drive around and figure out where the entrance is before you park so you don't lose track of where you are. Better signage is much needed here. Once inside the park though, it's well shaded and honestly much more fun than I had envisioned. There are lockers to store your belongings and huge restrooms for changing if you didn't come ready to go. The restrooms aren't the cleanest but honestly they are about what I was expecting so not horrible but not amazing. I think it would be really hard to have impeccable water park restrooms though, just my opinion.

Now, we were here with a two year old and I was really skeptical that she would have fun but holy cow did she enjoy herself. There is a huge splash pad area designed for little kiddos which she LOVED and she even had fun in some of the bigger pools with us adults. I was so shocked - we actually had an incredible time in the water with her and we actually stayed really cool despite it being one of the hottest days of the summer.

We did end up eating lunch here as well that day and the food was pretty basic for a theme park, expensive, fried foods, and a long wait. That could absolutely be something for them to work on. But, like I said, overall we had a blast and left thinking we would for sure come back next summer which was not what I was expecting at all!

Went labor day weekend on Saturday. Of coarse you pay full price and wander in and walk around to only find 2 rides open. We were told because school started they didn't have life guards. Fine, great, I get that. But people should be told the truth at the gait, or pay less money for entry. We wouldn't have wasted our money or time. Because the 2 rides that were open were backed up and took an hour to get on. And the small wave pool was bumper bodies. And the real kicker is, at every ride (I counted 7-8) that was closed, they had a employee just sitting there to tell you the "ride is closed". What a waste of staff.

Absolutely terrible! Half the rides were closed, including the lazy river. Go if you want to wait in line for an hour with a bunch of out of shape mid westerners for an 8 second ride. Absolutely horrendous!

Oceans of Fun - what a joke!!! Went on a Saturday. Arrived around 11:30. Paid for five adult tickets and $30 for parking only to find out that the big rides/slides were closed - apparently due to not enough help!!. Tried to get any sort of a refund (even a partial refund) and they would not offer anything. We were not there to go to worlds of fun, so having access to both parks was no bonus to us. Will never return! I can understand if a ride (or two) is closed for mechanical reasons or some thing, but for all of your large rides and a bunch of your food places to be closed because you don't have enough staff - that should be on you!!!

I took my grandsons to Oceans of Fun today, 6/16/23. The Extreme drop water slide had 2/3 slides closed. The 6 story straight slide was closed. Aruba tuba water slide closed. I was told that they did not have enough personal to run rides. Upgrades?, from previous years, they took out 2 green slides, 2 orange slides, obstacle course, and animals to climb on in
lagoon. And they have roped off a third of pool for none use. Now lagoon is just neighborhood swimming pool. One third of wave pool is roped off for none use. I grew up with this park in the 70's. Ever since Cedar Fair Entertainment Company has taken over, both parks have gone down hill. There are less show times at Tivoli and Moulin rouge, park hours are reduced, there are less rides, and now at Worlds of fun you will always find 2 to 3 major rides broken. Also, if you are going to open park later, 11 am, have the rides ready. We came into park and then waited 20 minutes for maintenance to open the queue line to the Mamba. Please get your testing of rides done before park opens. Thank you. Jeffrey

When summertime comes around I look forward to visiting Oceans of Fun because I get to spend all day in the sun swimming and wading in the pools, my favorite thing to do. It has been such a disappointment this year as every time I visit a third of everything is closed and roped off. I understand not wanting to stretch the lifeguards too thin, but when park goers are literally packed in like sardines in small sections of the water, there has to be something they can do. Limiting the guests admitted into the park would be better than this. When I visit with my husband and three boys we find ourselves walking from one pool to another looking for some small area where we can hop in- or stand in. Sometimes I pop in by myself while they are at Worlds of Fun, just to cool down and maybe swim a little, but there is never space for this anywhere except at the bar pool. Since it's very small I just wade around a little and leave. I grew up near the ocean and would love to enjoy the wave pool as it reminds me of home. Unfortunately this pool is packed tight with guests the worst of all the pools. Only once has it been completely open and not roped off and it was magical. It wasn't crowded and everyone was having fun. The lifeguards seemed on top of their game and not stressed at all. I wish it could be like this every day. This summer has been really hot and everyone with a pass/ticket expects there to be space for them somewhere in the water park, but there is none here. If everything was open it would be worth the money, but since so much of the park is closed or roped off, it's not worth the time or the money.

We came here 2-3 times a week all summer and it was a great time! Arrive early so you can get a good shaded spot. My only issue is that for as hit as it is there were many days that drink stations were not open and that's very scary when there is a heat advisory. They have to have water and other beverages available. I had a meal plan which is very well worth it!
On one of our visits my niece went under and had to get help from the life guard. Their response team was quick and knowledgeable! Which I appreciate!
I can't wait for next summer so we can go back and enjoy the water!

      Oceans of mass dissapointment.

Maybe because I'm comparing it to Schlitterbahn, which didn't open this year (sad face). Decided to give this park a go, since we had never been anyhow. Got a lucky price (expires today!) Of 39.99 a person, plus 17 bucks for parking (ahem, Schlitterbahn had free parking) and that was online price. So, $116.00 later, we rolled up (opted for VIP parking, 22 bucks online sale), we weren't as close as what seemed to be promised online, we had no give of direction for where to park, and the parking attendant was lazy, and seemed like...well, anywhere would be better.

Got into the park, rented a locker (for another 20 bucks), had no tube, but decided to get into the lazy river. Now, Schlitterbahn has a real nice lazy river. Around the whole park, with Rapids and options to get onto water rides by staying RIGHT THERE IN THE WATER (IMAGINE THAT). We couldnt find the tubes, but since you have to rent everything in this place, we assumed that was the issue. We made it around the lazy river (walking) in less than 7 minutes. What? Also, DONT GO AGAINST THE CURRENT KEEP MOVING. It seems pretty obvious, but pre-teens will scream their cracking little voices at you to remind the crowds.

Salina (by the way, family of 5 gets in for 19 bucks) has a lazy river that is way bigger than this. And, you can tube it. For free. After that extreme dissapointment, we got out of the bitter cold water and decided to see what else there was to do. 3 of the slides were closed. The others had lines (our fault for going Fathers Day weekend, I guess) that nearly reached the ground from their 5 story climbs. There weren't many rides.

Most of the park seems little kid friendly. A pretty big child is area. Lots of toddlers with saggy diapers and parents soaking up the sun and completely ignore them. There is a swim up bar, didn't try it. Can't speak on it. Lots of drunk middle aged moms doing finger guns like the local "Chad". Pew pew, Sheryl.

The only thing worse than the actual waters of the waterpark were the employees and the wanna be subway with stale bread and zero choice. "What kind of cheese you want?" "Cheddar?" "Oh, we only have one kind. Sorry." (Coughs into gloves hand and grabs sandwich). Yep.

It was a massive disappointment. It was full of people, which is great, but it is SO SMALL and cramped. Over priced, but at the same time, the price is for both Oceans of Dissapointment and Worlds of Trash...which I will get to.

Bottomline is, even with kids (40 bucks a kid), this park is dirty small and it sucks.

      Bring Schlitterbahn back!
