Slice-of-life comedy/melodrama aout life in a working-class neighborhood.
La verdad mire está película solo porque sale una niñita que sale en la película de la niña de la mochila azul, otra película mexicana con toques de comedia, albur y un drama que en general toda la película no encuentra el tono, pero pues es una película disfrutable de principio a fin
a very different kind of Galindo movie. This one feels a little more “polished” & “serious”. It’s comedic bits aren’t as colorful as they should be.
The same (questionable) populism as Nosotros Los Pobres, updated for the sexycomedia '80s -- life-lessons and heartwarming character beats in a very stylized narrative framework that's meant to convey something like neorealism but never departs from the library of cliches that had evolved in Mex-popular cinema over 40 years. I found it likeable, but that's me being a big Hector Suarez fanboy. Slightly more artful (but also more bathetic) version of the same: El Rey De la Vecindad.
