We selected a waterfront room and we had an awesome view.
The bed was comfortable, we had a large tv, and the bathroom was a good size.
Parking was super easy in the City’s Waterfront Garage. Watch for the small Marriott walkway signs and park on the 2nd or third level and take the walkway right into the hotel. Be mindful that you can either pay directly at the exit gate at the published rates on the entry sign which were $13 for 24 hours. You can also pay through the hotel at $20 per day which gives you unrestricted in and out privileges.
The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar on the property.
The hotel is conveniently located with dozens of restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk. The Nauticus, USS Wisconsin, Navy Base Boat Tour Dock, and the General MacArthur Memorial and Museum are all within a 10 minute walking distance.
One of the coolest things was the hotel’s robot that can be requested through the front desk to deliver towels, etc to the room.

We had reservations at another hotel in Norfolk as a stopover on our way to the Outer Banks. Upon check in at the other hotel, we were horrified at the lack of cleanliness. We immediately began searching for another hotel and fortunately found a room at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. Our room was immaculately clean and very updated/modern. It made us feel comfortable despite staying at a hotel in the midst of a pandemic. The bell staff and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to easily walk to a local pizza place for dinner and stroll on the waterfront afterward, so the location can’t be beat. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

I stayed here is my first time it was close to the office where I was starting a new job. The hotel is undergoing renovation. They didn’t reduce the rate and charge me $192 a night with everything close all the restaurants the bar you couldn’t get a drink it was prepackaged food you couldn’t get anything and I know because of the virus but I should’ve cut the rate down because of all this or was I was extremely disappointed. Parking was free and I parked on the second level where you can walk and get the elevator right there on the second floor the ATM was unplugged not working and the bathroom when you walk into it the light comes on an blinds you. Otherwise not bad.

Chris and mark have remarkable customer service they were genuine and great they also wore their masks the entire time which was greatly appreciated. The hotel itself was great as well as the location most things were closed due to current situations but we can understand it and do appreciate it. Thanks for the awesome stay!!

We’ve been staying at this hotel for the last 6 years for a dance competition, and it’s hands down my fave stay! The customer service is amazing and they anticipated all of our needs. Each employee we encountered, from house keeping to front desk smiled and served us graciously. Housekeeping was attentive and took an extra moment to fold my kids blankets and place their stuffed animals. This is service rarely encountered these days! Thanks for everything and we look forward to next year’s stay!

From check in to check out there was wonderful service by the staff at this hotel. I had some issues during my stay and I have to say the manager on duty Mr. Ty Watson really extended himself to make things right for us. He is one of the best managers I have come across in the many hotels I have stayed at across the US. I wish there were more like him at Marriott. The rooms are nice. Bathroom is spacious. Hotel has a decent gym and the pool looked nice from the outside as it was locked. Location is close to the river. Pay parking is $13.00 and hotel is connected to parking on the third floor by an enclosed bridge.

I don’t even know where to begin. My husband and I had a covid wedding and went to Virginia Beach for our mini-honeymoon. We had a great Airbnb booked but upon arrival it was a nightmare and so we were left without a room on a busy holiday weekend. My husband called the Marriott and spoke to Chris Eason. He explained our situation, booked a room, and to our delight, Chris made it immediately ready. Unfortunately when we got to our room we discovered the fridge was not working, one call to Chris and this was immediately replaced. Overnight, the air conditioning did not work and we woke up in the middle of the night to a 85 degree room. Again, we spoke to Chris and he switched our room fixing any and all problems without question. Any hiccup, inconvenience, or otherwise Chris handled with such kindness and generosity. He recommended amazing restaurants and even booked our reservations. We will be forever grateful for Chris Eason rescuing our honeymoon from what could have been a nightmare and making it an unforgettable weekend. I’ve never stayed at a Marriott but will now never stay anywhere else.

Our room was on 19th floor with a city/water view. It was clean with all we needed. Because of COVID-19 restrictions you do have to request certain items, like coffeemakers, as they have been removed from the rooms. But it was no issue - we asked and received. The front desk staff was very helpful in providing directions and making suggestions.

It pains me to write this because I know the price of the hotel will go up and my secret oasis will no longer be a secret... but I feel obligated to give kudos because of how amazing my stay has been. I was looking for a Covid safe place to stay while on business and this looked the best. I was thrilled to see hand sanitizer stations everywhere and excellent precautions in place. The staff must fill them religiously because I never found one empty. Furthermore, all of the staff had a smile on their face, even in the restaurant where they must be struggling for business (get the calamari there by the way). The best part of the hotel is the lounge for Marriott Bonvoy members. Unlimited soda, coffee, and water with plenty of space and very good FREE breakfast that included omelettes, waffles, potatoes, and more. As a perk, the parking deck across the street connects to the 3rd floor which I’ll remember for the winter. I was told this place was a dump before the renovations and I can unequivocally say I never would’ve known. Great work!

I was here for a week on business. The two bed is nice enough, with a wonderful bathroom. Unfortunately, some of the service staff was not so helpful. There were times I'd call to order something and no one would answer the phone. Or I'd order something, and the process for payment authorization took so long the restaurant had closed by the time it was set up. The internet isn't that great, and the upgraded internet isn't worth the money. The biggest failure to me has been their lost and found. I accidentally left my dental bag with a dental appliance behind, and 4 days later they still haven't found it. I can only assume it was thrown away, and I'm nothing short of furious about this. Those things aren't cheap and will likely cost several hundred dollars to replace.

The elevators are in quite good condition although the vinyl wrap on the doors is scratched. Floor and walls are n very good condition. During the renovation I think they will do some kind of upgrade n them.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights between Christmas and New Years and had a nice room and room service. I was under the weather so we did not take advantage of other amenities. My husband worked out both days and found the facilities satisfactory. We had a lovely view. A transformer in the area blew one evening and we were without power in our hotel room for 12 hours, but the elevators and hall lights worked. The power outage was no fault of the hotel Our only complaint was the hotel did not reimburse us for services that were not accessible during the 12 hour power outage and because my husband requires electricity for a medical condition, we think the hotel could have done better.
There are more places to choose from in the Norfolk area.
