Norfolk State University Reviews
Rating 3.52 out of 5 1,565 reviews
Norfolk state university in reality it the worst HBCU ever. Students are dying on campus due to the locals and being lied about and saying it was off campus BECAUSE the school is not gated and anyone can easily walk on campus. Housing is terrible they accept too many kids then put currently attending student in hotels with roaches and no means for food. Financial aid, student accounts, registration office, and the cashier office are the most unhelpful and unprofessional office of them all. They never answer the phone, they give attitudes to students when we are seeking help for our education, give no notice to dropping classes etc and tell students after the fact, process financial aid packages late and put all their mistakes on the students. They also mess up students financial aid and blame it on students. The food in the cafe is unsanitary and disgusting. Flies are all over the food after being left out all day, the utensils are dirty as well. Do not go here!
Ah, freshman year, the glorious initiation into the realm of higher education. It was like stumbling into a maze blindfolded, armed only with a map drawn by someone who'd never been there themselves. The thrill of independence mingled with the terror of responsibility. Classes were a mix of enlightening revelations and desperate Google searches five minutes before deadlines. Social life oscillated between exhilarating parties and awkward cafeteria encounters. Yet, amidst the chaos, there was a strange kind of magic—the discovery of newfound passions, the forging of lifelong friendships, and the occasional late-night pizza-fueled existential crisis. Ah, college. Wild ride.
I love the spartan spirit, of which, is alive and well on the campus of Norfolk State. The academics and environment are a safe place to grow. Norfolk State offer an environment that is ever changing: in turn the environment fosters hands-on real-life skilled training to the budding professional/ you learn, not just as a student but as a professional. although the academic accolades are many there is still room for change. The change I would love to see, would be in the Mass com department. I would love if they would expand their television studios into a fully operational entity just as they have a fully functional radio station that serves the community. This change wouldn't just serve the student this station could genera income for the department. By leasing the studio time and hiring student engineers, cameramen and the equipment for independent novice projects in the local community.
