j f It's a slow burn, but gets rolling eventually. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/24 Full Review Aldo G Compelling story of obsession that pulls no punches. And, as an aside, Ann Sheridan wears some of the coolest hats I've ever seen in a movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/23 Full Review Tom M Kent's character is so dull and moronic that it's difficult to continue watching. Sheridan's character may be among the poorest excuses for a 'femme fatale' ever. The irony of the final 15 minutes saves this from being 'rotten'. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/15/21 Full Review Audience Member It's good. Takes it time but with lots of twists. Morbid but clever with great Kent Smith, Sheridan and Robert Alda Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member There are a couple of scenes in "Nora Prentiss" where a married man and his mistress express their attraction for one another. I found these scenes to be heartbreakingly real and the film to be a sobering cautionary tale against adultery . Ann Sheridan plays a chanteuse who has gone through a long line of men who have broken her heart. She meets a successful doctor played by Kent Smith. The married doctor has two children and a marriage that's grown stale. Smith is an uninspired choice for the role. I would have loved to have seen someone like James Stewart or Henry Fonda in the role. Nonetheless, this is a well scripted and directed film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Great twists and turns. Especially the ending. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/14/19 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Josephine O'Neill Daily Telegraph (Australia) A different actor might have helped Nora Prentiss to obtain the punchy melodrama success that the Warner Bros. have made their own.
