Concert promoter Nick Loomis is sent to Sydney by his ex father-in-law and boss Garth Kingswood, and asked to deliver a briefcase to a foreigner. When the man is killed in the airport, Loomis ends up entangled in corporate spying and is forced to fight for his life with the help of Terry McKenna, a woman from Austin working for the Sydney Opera House.

If you were familiar with Sydney in the late '70s, No Room to Run is like a 90 minute trip in a time machine - the empty skyline with an unfinished Centrepoint Tower, running hydrofoils, the old wharves at Circular Quay, the old brown brick interior of Kingsford Smith airport; Blues Point Reserve (at one time I lived right next to it), Centennial Park, the Venus Room nudie club in Kings Cross, 70’s interiors in brown, orange and green, chandeliers, beaded curtains and arched doorways, and men wearing wide collars and flared pants a size too small. I think I saw a guy in a blue safari suit in the background of one scene, it was tremendous. Not enough people…
