- i really like this LP, and was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic sound quality and the mastering. all the early Pistols recordings ive heard in the past really sound awful, especially the legendary "Spunk" LP, which i have always thought was garbage in terms of sound quality. this pressing of "No Future UK" sounds very carefully restored from the original master tapes. the clarity and depth and over all power of these recordings are light years ahead of any other source of pre-NMTB recordings i have ever heard.
This specific LP and an early UK pressing of NMTB are pretty much all you need in terms of essential Pistols records.
Highly Recommended - I have a lot of Sex Pistol’s releases. Oddly enough as only a few are really good and one is an actual album of original songs, Never Mind The Bullocks! They were very influential in my musical taste growing up through the 80’s. Complete chaos and rebellion and that was the initiative that many Gen-Xers needed to get through the Regan years. They made history with their antics and this album is just more of the same bootleg copies that have popped up over the years. I don’t know who has the rights to their catalog now, but I would guess it’s the remaining members. I’ve lost absolutely all respect for John Lyndon, aka Johnny Rotten, who thinks Trump is “great for America” as if he actually cares or lives here! There’s really only two albums that you need to own. Three if you like live music. NMTB was their only official album of original material, Spunk is the “Real Deal” as far as how this band actually sounds without the mastering and the controlled recording environment, but everything else is basically just the same stuff that most fans have already purchased. The Japanese SHM versions of Spunk and Filthy Lucre Live are also worth a listening. I think they sound better than any other copies of these albums I’ve ever heard. NMTB on MQA is amazing if you have the equipment to unfold the format. Unbelievable what you are missing from the vinyl and other releases.
Malcom McLaren really made off with the money from these guys in a very short time and continued to do so after after Sid Vicious died. I also purchased the Japanese series starting with VJCP-68050 to VJCP68059 as they commemorate the 25th anniversary release of NMTB and when all of these are in series , the OBIs spell out “Sex Pistols” similar to the original Japanese cardboard sleeve version of the Genesis series. It’s pretty cool looking and a great collectors set. - Edited 3 years agoabsolutely pointless release, a needle drop (ie: its recorded off a vinyl record) as a DVD-A disc
the 1976 tracks weren't even pitch/speed corrected - The one with black label ,GD 002 matrix, was the ORIGINAL issue of the Spunk Demos WITH the 2 extra tracks-this was meant to be the 'NO FUTURE UK...'issue and came out with the proper sleeve in various colours etc.BUT just to mess up some early sleeves in wrap round white and other colours were put round the ordinary SPUNK LP without the extra tracks!A small amount of Green sleeves ,followed by the main lots in yellow rectified that!
- I'm not sure this is a reissue/later pressing as some have stated. I have a copy with this folded over cover and it has the exact same 'Bollocks' inner sleeve as the originals supposedly had ( and of which I have another copy with handmade sleeve). Also, it has the lyn matrix which are from that particular pressing plant so.....I just think the original pressings came in a variety of guises, depending on what was to hand to either the makers, distributors or record shops at the time? Maybe these could be seen as later issues of first pressings once the makers had got their act together regarding the sleeve but I don,t think it was that much later TBH

Hi, I too think it looks like the 15 track pressing of 'No Future UK'
and agree totally with nmtb77. Perhaps a mistake was made when reading
the Matrices?? They can be awkward to read at the best of times especially when hand etchedreferencing Untitled (LP, Album, Unofficial Release) none
Hi ! It looks like a copy of "No Future UK?", the one with green wraparound sleeve and 15 tracks. Matrix numbers may be GD-001-A and GD-002-B
