FC Bayern bids farewell to Niklas Süle

Thank you and goodbye, Niki! Before the last home match of the 2021/22 season on Sunday against VfB Stuttgart, president Herbert Hainer, CEO Oliver Kahn and board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić said farewell to defender Niklas Süle on behalf of FC Bayern. The 26-year-old, whose contract with the record champions expires on 30 June, will join Borussia Dortmund for the new season.

CEO Oliver Kahn: "We’d like to thank Niklas Süle for his endeavour in FC Bayern colours. He has always given everything for the club over the years and we’ve celebrated great successes with him, not least the treble in our historic six-trophy year. We wish him all the best for the future."

Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić: "In his five years at FC Bayern, Niklas Süle has been an important player in our team that won all the trophies we were eligible to win. He came as a young, ambitious defender and has developed into a serial champion. I would like to thank him for a very intense time together and wish him good luck for the future."

Süle moved from TSG Hoffenheim to FC Bayern in the summer of 2017. With the Bavarians, he won the Bundesliga five times, the DFL Supercup four times, the DFB Cup twice and the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
